I like Culcas, but i thought mentally he's already gone yesterday, to me gave the impression that he's fed up with all the upheaval that's been and is going on at city, sad to say yes i think he'll be gone soon.
Not saying you have to, but you need to be tactically astute. When they scored we where under a period of pressure, you could see the goal coming. At that point they should have been back providing cover not holding hands with the forwards on the half way line. At that point they had 11 on the pitch.
I though Clucas was excellent yesterday. Played it at his own pace and strolled through the game in a good way. It's true Bowen didn't track back but if he does push up its henriksen job to cover, which he isn't good at. But Aina getting skinned first half had nowt to do with Bowen not tracking back. He was one on one with their lb and stood full and flat footed not on a side. Shocking defending reminiscent of Andy robbo when he was first here. The nutmegs proved this. Might be the impetuousness of youth thinking he can recover with his pace, he couldn't. But going forward second haLf, Jesus he can shift.
Sadly I think the same. I don't think he liked been with Henriksen in the middy, a few times he had a pop at him. My money is on him going to Stoke
It was difficult to tell the difference between Clucas either trying his hardest to look call, cool and collected like Huddlestone. Because he now feels he has to make that role his own. Or whether he was sulking and not committing because he wants to leave and doesn't want to get injured.
Is there any update re Stewart`s ankle injury which has kept him out so far, I do think paired alongside Clucas it may lift the intensity of the midfield. That of course is if Clucas is still here after the transfer window shuts.
I'm in agreement with Chazz. Thought Clucas had a decent game. He needs to playing with Stewart alongside him rather than Henriksen.
Yeh agree with that Henriksen more a AM than DM had a thunderous shot that hit bar for Abels first goal and ping a good shot from outside the area in second half that wasn't far away
Exactly all the danger came from their left. Our right hand side. That's henriksens side. To cover. Saying that there was enough there to see henriksen can be a Koren type palyer. But in the same way he's a luxury to carry.
I thought he did well but clearly was not happy. I think you are right ref Stewart, Henriksen needs to be further forward. His looked better in space rather then tracking and tackling
If Clucas wants to leave (not sure he does) more likely Ehab stripping the player assets he can put in a transfer request otherwise he can honour is 2 year contract with an agreement in place he can leave next summer if we don't go up. I want him to stay as does the manager but most importantly we all know we won't see any of the money.
I've seen a couple of cracking posts, like this one, from you about this game; it's really good to have you back talking good football, as it is very insightful. But remember a tip from an earlier post: Wise men can't attack AND defend all the time, it simply isn't possible. Deep. (Maybe stupid men can??)
Clucas has never struck me as a moody, not up for it player; more the type who is switched on by the whistle. Is it possible folk might be reading too much into an evolving team?
I've seen quite a few posts saying we'll be better when Stewart's in. I hope these people have seen plenty of him and aren't just assuming he'll improve us.
