. I don't interpret it as weakness, I just think he's had enough of the whole situation. I would imagine he's totally ****ed off with Coutinho for trying to put the blame on him - I would be.
My understanding is Klopp is a proud (stubborn) man who would happily get rid of Coutinho right now whereas the owners won't sell him (hence the strong statement). Klopp has shown he's willing to cut off his nose to spite his face with the treatment of Sakho at the detriment to our defence, and I think he'd do the same with Coutinho. Right now, I'm backing the owners to stay strong and keep Coutinho at all costs because we NEED him, and if you don't think that, watch yesterday's game again. I was willing to give Edwards a chance but we need a strong DOF who will challenge Klopp. We should have had at least 2-3 new signings by now - now we still could before the end of the window but we could be out of the CL by that point. I can't accept that we couldn't find other CB's - Spurs has the best defence and still spent £35m on a new defender. United had a good defence and signed Lindelof;
depends how Klopp reacts if what you say is true. We have seen how he has not played sahko. Just like Conte and Costa, will we see Klopp choose Coutinho after his latest outburst if he is kept against his will
True - from what I've heard, Klopp has lost trust in Coutinho after the player had promised he would give us one more season only to hand in a TR a few days back and then leak info to the media. You could argue that Sakho is dispensable so it's easier to drop him but we simply cannot afford to do that with Coutinho. I don't care if it makes Klopp loolweak or a hypocrite because right now, he has to do what's best for the team.
Report: Liverpool refuse to sell Emre Can as Juventus eye £23m move Can is demanding £100000 a week to stay. Man Utd need to sign stars like Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge - Paul Merson MANCHESTER UNITED need more playmakers in their squad. Liverpool should accept £100m offer for Philippe Coutinho, says Graeme Souness Former Liverpool captain Graeme Souness believes the Reds should accept a £100m offer for Philippe Coutinho
La Liga is on TV regularly fella, you'll probably give more chance watching him than if he were still with us!
So we have Couthino going Can is refusing to sign a new deal, I think because we are lowballing it. And we've signed a kid, a demoted LB and Salah (who looks ok tbh). That's shocking. We've utterly failed in the transfer market. Barcelona have just shown us how to get the man you want. #sackedwards
Lacazette looks like a good buy at a good price. Would have been good for us tbh and left us £60m of the Couthino money to get a creative player in the middle.
Well, accepting that he wants to go and we will sell him is one thing, squeezing out every penny is another. £90-100m plus Rafhina. He's got to be better than every one of yesterday's midfielders. Then go and spend the cash. Add £10m to the Keita offer and test them. Same with vvD. Then go and get Another forward with the rest. We could still make this work for us. I doubt we know how though.
it won't happen. We still have the upper hand but Couthino has just levelled the field a little. If it is cash, we need to get another in before he goes or we'll be playing games for the rest of August.
Oh we will be anyway. Either you think we need the money or you don't is the issue...... We need to not given in for a week now to put this transfer request in the past and also get through the cl qualifier if we can.... once that occurs Barca still need to make an improved offer from where they were. Which is at minimum the 100mil in cash... but that was euros no?
I don't think we'll get it. I think the only way we'll get that value will be with players (assets) moving the other way). They would effectively have to increase their offer from £75m to £100m. And we know they had no cash before that and need what they have for other players. Ain't gunna happen imo but hope I'm very wrong.
