And all this without actually seeing a match. Perhaps they should fire TC & employ you to ignore the players on the training pitch & sit on your fat arse reading football gossip columns. Sounds like a winner, that. Not! Despite what you hear, Phillips had as good/bad a game as anyone else. TC obviously fancies him to start the season for us. His choice is made with huge experience in the game, and awareness of Phillips' current capability versus everyone else's. Remember, you only get to see what the tv director shows you, or the radio commentator tells you, or what an author writes in the gossip sites. I think I trust TC's assessment more than yours. The same goes for your unfounded statement on the wingers. 2 attackers, eh? TC should tear up those coaching badges & listen to you. WTF does he know, eh? Armchair Loser has all the answers! Doh! Go watch a match. It's soooo different from what you imagine it to be. FYI, both Saiz & Hernandez played together today. It didn't work. Hernandez is a stinking left winger.
Tin hat time! Going to sleep now but at least will have loads to read in the morning Hope you enjoyed your day even if the result wasn't perfect
My take on today. No need for individual player assessments. They were all much of a muchness. My concern was more about out management team. It was educational, Marcos. I think TC may have the same problem as the snake. He may have better players, but he has similar tactical limitations. PNE tied us up in knots today, hence our flat performance. They pushed 3 forward players wide into our half, meaning our FBs could not get forward. Ayling, for instance, got forward once, in the second half before the red card (lots after it). They also played high up, flooding midfield. Sadly, we insisted in playing a passing game from the back throughout the match, but if was doomed to failure as the pitch was too busy. Passes either went astray, or were not the pacey, sharp passes we're committed to playing. There were 2 other factors. 1. The referee was truly awful. I always have a biased downer on refs, but the howling crowd were in agreement with me today. Some of his decisions were absolutely diabolical - and that included the fact that Ayling should have got sent off. 2. This was compounded by the 'robust' play & time-wasting from PNE. The guy that got red carded should have been off early in the first half. There were at least 3 nailed on yellows that could perhaps have been straight reds. Most of it was off the ball, & he went after Pablo every time. Quite apart from the tackles (read assaults), he literally lifted Pablo off the ground when he was down injured, & going by the reaction, I think he grabbed handfuls in the process. I also twice watched him lash out with his hand at Pablo as he passed him by. Wood changed his shirt at one point after being sandwiched jumping for a ball on the opposite wing. I suspect he was bleeding from the 4 flying elbows. Their #9 was particularly vicious with his elbows. I doubt it'll make the highlights, but a throw-in went to #9 towards the end of the game. Pontus was directly behind him. #9 didn't even jump - he just barged back, then fell down & started rolling about. Ref gives a foul! There were loads of decisions like that. Ayling even got kicked in the face & we didn't get a free kick. So it's easy to criticise. What should we have done? I don't have all the answers, but I would hope someone with the coaching badges would. I would certainly have used our 60yd diagonal passes, as we usually do. We didn't today. It was an ideal situation too. Slow CBs playing a high line, we had 2 speedy wingers. In fact, any ball over the top would have sufficed. How many times did we do it? None. How many times did the keeper kick the ball up the pitch? None. Nope, we played a passing game thoughout, with a formation &/or tactics that weren't working. We only woke up when they went down to 10 men, but they just packed the box & wasted huge amounts of time with 'injuries', queries about where a kick should be taken from, kicking the ball away - even their manager did it. And what action did the ref take? None. Remember that old rule where the 'keeper can hold the ball for 6-8 seconds? Completely ignored. Rant over. The only disappointing thing for me today was not so much the score, but TC's tactics.
It's a funny old game. You have 4 points but should only have 1, we have 1 point but should have 6. Sure it will even itself out throughout the season. Agree about Phillips - not good enough!!
Just a thought lads, Blame all you want, But mr wood 20m did not score, should have and wood(haha) have changed the game. Seems everyone else is getting the blame.
Looks like the Donkey has arrived, but, he could just be testing the waters. http://www.footballinsider247.com/s...-signing-dines-players-ahead-clash-v-preston/
I'm sure it will Trigger, you lot will average one point every 2 games and we will average 4 every two games, or perhaps a little better
It is a funny old game, and after every millwall failure,it gets funnier. enjoy league 1 again next season. Agree about all your team- not good enough.
With me its his scoring record.plus we need in my opinion a fox in the box.roofe was wasted on the wing.
He’s been waiting patiently for us to drop a point and for the Wallies to get one. Been quite a wait Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Think its just a case of most don't want him, because he's probably a replacement for Wood. signed on season loan according to Wiki
