From where I was sitting Redmond didn't touch Fabianski, who had released the ball before Redmond intercepted it. And you're right, Fabianski should have been booked by halfway through the first half, but Mike Jones just waved at him a few times every time he was strolling around threatening to take a goal kick.
Let's hope they discuss that on MOTD (they won't)....I think Nathan knew what he was doing, but I suspect he saw a legitimate opportunity to intercept the ball.
I was pulling your leg a bit mate (hence the blue writing). Trust me though, it wasn't just bad finishing today - we really, really didn't get the rub of the green against a well drilled side set out to defend. Had one of the goals dribbled in, we'd have won comfortably by three or four. I saw a good side there today with a lot of potential.
I'm pretty confident that the law says the ball is still considered in the goalkeepers possession(hands) during a the process of a drop kick. So in theory it's like kicking the ball out of a keepers hands, so I think the yellow was justified by the letter of the law. A Swansea player(think Fernandez) went through Redmond in the second half and didn't get a yellow or even punished for a foul and that was far worse than the yellow Romeu received.
Get your bingo cards out for MOTD. Selling club, Virgil, link to Liverpool should feature. In fact may also feature during the Liverpool game.
Trying to watch it on Sky Choice, got the sound but no picture, sounds like we should have had at least one penalty? Managed to watch the highlights and our brief coverage on MoTD and on another day with another Referee we may actually have had three penalties!
Referees were better when they were policemen from Great Bookham in Surrey or teachers from the local comprehensive school. Like footballers since they have become professionals they are too full of themselves to do the job impartially or properly and as for todays ref well the very lovely Mrs Godders could have done a far better and fairer job and she is 100% Cymraeg.
Sotonsaint, it's funny how fans see things differently. You watched the game on a stream and are p1ssed off. I went to the game, spent 9 dull hours on motorways, just got in and still buzzing from the game. Disappointed with the result because we played so well. Dominated the game creating chance after chance. I'm not just a happy clapper, I went to hull and stoke end of last season and both performances were sh1t. Today was totally different and very positive. Shame you couldn't see any of that.
A big positive from the clean sheet yesterday and he last zillion home games, is if VD knocks on MP2s door next week saying he's available, MP2 can tell him if has a place on the bench.
MOTD resisted the VVD saga manfully...only mentioned VVD once in passing...perhaps even they are fed up with it. Rose to the challenge of giving Swansea some coverage, though said a couple of times that we dominated. Your challenge, Mauricio, should you choose to accept it is to get us earlier in the programme. Don't usually watch much of MOTD (as I record it and whizz through to the important bit ), but watched it all last night because who would want to miss Chelsea losing and Liverpool succumbing to a late late equaliser.
