Not that it makes a jot of difference but I don't think shots blocked by defenders count as shots on target in the stats.
A couple of shots were going in but were blocked on the line today.

Looking at some of the other "big" teams today, I reckon they will be in the market for a quality centre back, more likely to chase Jack than the virus!

The theme from the fans around me (apart from Mr Potato Head near me, who jeered sarcastically the very first time - the very first time - Fraser caught the ball and who refused to clap at the end) was that if we carry on playing like that we're in for a cracking season. It looked like the Saints of the past few years. Freewheeling, fast countering, aggressive, excellent. On another day we'd have scored a hatful.

I seem (aaprt from Mr Potato Head) to be surrounded by fans who can divorce the result from the performance. Unlike some people on here who sound like they are off to tie the noose to the rafters.

Position in the first half was almost as bad. Ball was in play for about 10 seconds, if that, of the 1 minute added on.

Just got back home to Barnet. Obviously disapointed with dropping two points and yet another goaless game. Collectively poor finishing again. However, we looked bright. Reasonable energy and by far the better team. Good to see the high press in again. I see a reasonable season ahead on this performance. We will really stuff someone at home soon and I just pray it's the Spammers who would thoroughly deserve it.

Haven't read any post match comments yet, but I did watch the game, as my second son was decent enough to be born before 11am this morning :emoticon-0152-heart. Now drunk and emotional!

    Thought Saints were slick a
showed promise. Something seemed different about them.
Hope I'm not wrong, but MP could be the business

So the Echo reports says, nevertheless it should have been more for the time wasting and slow substitutions.

From where I was sitting I thought Redmond played okay. Not noticeably less than anyone. Odd.

Just caught up with the thread after getting back. Firstly, was on a train back to Westbury absolutely jam packed with Swansea fans, most of whom had to stand up. Lovely bunch of people, all very happy with a point. I hope they do OK this season although if today was anything to go by, they might struggle again, especially if Gylffi goes.

Lovely to see Fran, Vin & son, Laces and RAWMOK once again, plus Fats' dad who I was sat directly behind, strangely enough!

On the game itself, this was a very promising start for MP2, and the only frustration was the lack of goals. Lots of lovely interpassing and superb overlapping wing play. Goals will undoubtedly come, but I do wonder if we might try playing 2 up top with someone like Austin or Gallagher knocking balls down for Gabbiadini, or vice versa. Jack Stephens MOTM for me, closely followed by Romeu. They were both excellent. If we weren't so short of CB's I'd like to see Jack alongside Oriol, his confidence has come along so much and he looks good going forward. Great shot by JWP bringing a good save from Fabianski, too, for those of you who don't believe he can shoot from open play. Fraser seemed more in command of his area too, and came out for crosses more than I can remember seeing him.

Finally, the referee. We had 2 players booked without fouls being committed, which seemed a strange new interpretation of the rules. Neither did the new rules seem to apply to Swansea until Fulton committed identical fouls on Tadic in 2 minutes.

All in all, a good, albeit slightly disappointing start!

I can't believe City took 69 minutes to score after a million shots against Brighton. Unacceptable. #PepOut

I saw the discussion about the free kick and I told my neighbour that Maya should take it. He looked at me like I was mad and then Yoshi took the ball and nearly scored. We've all seen how Maya can score in training...rivals JWP in free kicks.

Stephens won't play alongside Romeu, that's what Lemina has been brought in to do.

I know, but he looks so good going forward, it gives us another option if (God forbid) either Romeu or Lemina gets injured or suspended, AND we get Virgil back or replace him.

By the way, I note you don't defend the refereeing Tom!

I thought every player did well today...they have responded to the manager and that can only be a good thing.

I still don't understand why Redmond was booked. As far as I could tell, he blocked Fabianski's throw out by accident. It was an indirect free kick, sure, but a yellow? No. And the amount of added time he played was a joke.
