I'm not saying it has to be a like-for like. But someone who can contribute goals from midfield, whilst also feeling at home in the penalty box. You've mentioned Vietto. I have mentioned Sigurdsson (clearly we're not getting him though). These aren't the next Mane. But they could solve the problem.

I too don't believe that it is a striker that we need (although I equally would not say no if a quality one became available). But someone with a presence in and out of the box, and is a real goal threat, is pretty imperative I would say. I'm not overly fussed if that is a quick wide man, or a number 10, or whatever.

How is expecting a team to score at home with 30 shots on goal classed as pitiful?

I enjoyed the game...we were much better than Swansea who had come to contain us and waste time....and then try to get us on the break. They got half of what they wanted and will count themselves fortunate to get the point. I saw a lot of positives which bodes well for the season. Fans must be happier with that than a lot of games under Puel. We didn't score, but I am not going to make the assumption that we won't score in other games. It's MP2's first game....so far, so good.

I think the similar qualities to Mane thing is the hope with Nathan.

It might be the hope, but I don't think it's more than hope. I like Redmond; similar to Mane as an overall package he isn't. Much prefers playing in front of the defense, and doesn't make the sorts of runs from midfield that we're crying out for. And while he isn't the worst offender as far as finishing, he's still below par in that regard.

It Basically was. He might be happy with a point at home to a **** swansea side and say were were "nothing special" and accept that. But some of us expect a bit more.

I wouldn't go as far as to use the word "expect" but I certainly believe it is two points dropped. And that is very frustrating, even more so given the missed opportunity to build immediate momentum. Those two points, and that missed opportunity, could come back and cost us. If we're ever going to be able to keep hold of our best players, I think we've got to raise the bar so high that we don't just dismiss two points dropped at home to Swansea as a minor inconvenience or something.

Actually it was the poorest I have seen from Gabbi, he is usually so clinical when the chances come, today he was scuffing them and very much off target, everyone is entitled to an off day, he will come back with a bang next time.

Yes a 0 - 0 draw with plenty of action is not that bad if you aren't biased.

If we are judging on one game, I'm guessing Chelsea will be relegated. :) I know the result today sounds like the matches under Puel, but it certainly looked different. The team were up for it and I saw a lot of things to be pleased about. Stephens played very well, Gabbi played his socks off, Forster didn't have a save to make (if I've remembered correctly), and we had a lot of chances....only the ones on target are counted, but there were many close efforts. It's almost like some people would rather we had 2 shots only, both on target....even if neither went in. I'd suggest that creating a lot of chances is more encouraging. It was enjoyable to watch if frustrating...most fans would like to see that every week, because they would know that goals would go in.
