I actually think TIE goes so much deeper into the socio-political and cultural context of the eras the characters live through though in a much more truthful way than either the sopranos or breaking bad which through their nature are kind of much more fictional since the stories are pretty far-fetched. The stories in TIE aim for much more veracity and realness than either of those series. Maybe The Wire is comparable and actually that took me a minute to start to understand the specficities and minutiae of what was going on, but obviously once you gave yourself the time to understand it become very richly rewarding viewing
Watched the first two again recently with mini luv with a view to going to the cinema for the third but didn't get round to it. I'm going to rent it in Sky when it comes out.
Finished it now. Loved it! A lot more links to Breaking Bad in this season than previous ones too The finale had to happen, that sorry had run its course long ago imo
Spoiler Gilly finding that annulment is huge. It will now be confirmed that Rhaegar married Lyanna thus making Jon Targaryen the rightful heir of the House Targryen. The irony is, there's currently 2 bastards going beyond the wall with stronger claims than Dany. Jon and Gendry.
Spoiler: spoiler got yeah but it was basically ignored Bran already knows so.... then jon calls her kids beasts... he's like RHC in the cheese on a staturday when the feral brats are in!!!! a) they basically wedged everything into one episode.... the next one must be ****ing epic b) deepest ****ing river i ever saw FFS... lannister... c) gendry truns up after all this time.... with a ****ing giant hammer and crushes a comedians skull d) next then theres the hound in a cell.. ffs that wasn't much fun... so off they all ****ing go.. that was fun. e) deanyrs is getting the wet lips for jon snow... and jorah the jonah truns up and gets a hug then ****s off with jon... f) the jokes keep coming. they are really taking the piss out of themselves nwo.. thought you were still rowing i love that this season. g) Little finger what a guy.... plants the seeds of discontent. jon doesn't bother to drop by winterfell and give a shard of dragonglass to anyone so little finger is having his sport. Over all... good episode... need to watch it again.
so my list now is actually watch breaking bad... I only got a borrow of netflix account recently. On season 2 when the plane exploded Start better call saul. is ozark on my list... i must see. House of cards... meh... we will see. it can't be as fun as watching trump live.
epic scene and interaction absolutely, the cgi for Drogon was awesomes, you could see what was going through his head!
Spoiler: GoT Spoiler Indeed. For me one of the best things about that white walker snagging team is how they're all characters who have been resurrected and risen from the dead in their own ways. Jon obviously through Melisandre, Beric through Thoros (who is himself born again by becoming a devotee of that religion), Tormund who in his previous life as a wildling north of the wall might as well be dead but is now a key player, the Hound who everyone thinks is dead after fighting Brienne and has also changed since he went through his own being born again with those people following Ian McShane's character building the church, Jorah who had Greyscale and was near dead and treated as dead by society, Davos who has kind of found a new life after Stannis, and Gendry who has had to pretend to be dead to avoid being taken prisoner and probably executed. Additionally and following this, they're all an assortment of mismatched bastards and unwanted dudes, guys who for various reasons are considered undesirable by those at the centre of power ... It's great stuff
well... Spoiler: spoiler we projected exactly what we wanted to see into it as was their intent. Deanrys shock at the dragon allowing that was frankly only superseded by the ****ING STATE OF THAT GRUBBY ****ERS HANDS. EEE but that damned bastard is a grubby ****a... as the say in the norf.
bar of soap jon lad... Spoiler: spoiler i like how he didn't trust the **** enough to tell her he was actually dead himself... he's got out of there and **** knows but.... well I heard all of the next bit of this in a spoiler over 6/8 months ago. none of the prior episodes were particularly spoilt but once i heard them say go catch as walker i was... oh.. this got leaked.... at least i don't know who dies but i do know what type of walker they get../SPOILER]
