With the pound soon expected to achieve parity with the Mesopotamian Groat, anyone selling a valuable asset would obviously favour Euros.
He is Spurs 4th choice CB, £22m is a ridiculous price for him but expect him to be better than poor old Gardos who should have been sold or lent out by now
We have been linked with Armstrong again for £3m due to him having one year left on his contract I wonder if Celtic will be reluctant to sell as we are currently blocking their VVD sell on percentage? Also if we were to get him then another player would have to leave - presumably Clasie because there would be too many midfielders
Well of course they know every detail of what is happening in Southampton from the other side of the world. The internet is just full of crap that people take as gospel. The world has gone mad.
As mentioned on match thread, Mauricio said that we are looking at other players, but market is difficult. When asked, he said the team is not his team yet, but a work in progress.
Of course, but it's also not unreasonable for Austrian journalists to hear about bids for Austrian players.
When you consider that Spurs' first and second choice CBs form probably the best partnership in the PL, being 4th choice (if not 3rd) doesn't look so bad
He also hasn't been able to nail down a spot in the starting lineup of the Austrian national team...Martin Hinteregger and Alexander Dragovic have consistently been preferred to Wimmer over the past few years. I don't really see a reason to pay the PL premium for him, given that he isn't extremely young, hasn't demonstrated that he's a standout talent, and doesn't come with the benefit of being considered a home-grown player. We can get more for less elsewhere; Hinteregger himself sold for about a third of what we'd have to pay for Wimmer.
