Luiz was big news. You got loads of stick for it, which turned out to be rather inaccurate.

You may have only lost Matic and you've replaced him anyway, but you've done less business.
Costa still has to go too and you've got European football to deal with this season.
I'm surprised that you haven't strengthened more.

I read something recently about your new longest serving player.
    Any idea who it is?

  2. Exactly.

Which is why Rose has to go.

Levy was probably always going to give pay rises to our key players.

I've already said that that is undoubtedly the reason why Rose has kicked off, because he isn't among the core players, and it's put his nose out of joint, and he's thrown his toys out of the pram. The only reason he didn't lay into the club completely is because he's injured and has it at the back of his mind that no other club will want him. He's not completely stupid.

    1) Yeah but it's not like it won't happen. If Alli continues to grow as he has done then he'll want first class money.
    2) Yeah he's not gone about it in the right way.
    3) But it's possible for the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, United and City. That's my point. It's a case of pay them or lose them.

Yep. Might make his debut in his own testimonial! <laugh>
One of about 10 players who aren't in the squad really and will probably get loaned out, again.
Surprised nobody's signed Remy yet, to be honest.

    1) It won't surprise me if Real, Barca and the like come in for him next year.
    2) Agreed.
    3) It's possible, but unlikely for most of them. Fullbacks don't really get that sort of money, City excepted.

Newspapers print story at 00:00 -> 01:00 am on the 10th.
Players turn up to training at 9:30 am on the 10th.
Journalists write and publish stories about what supposedly happened at training in the afternoon/evening of the 10th.

Not that difficult to get your head around, surely?

My views on our Youth set up and loaning of young players is a matter of public record <laugh>

I am surprised Remy hasnt been snapped up either.

My point is, everyone will make a fuss over City and United, and, as with last season, everyone will predict a City/United title race.
Didnt go down like that last season though.

We need two more squad signings for me, but there is still time.

  9. Phil McNumpty (BBC pundit) has got us down as finishing 6th, behind Arsenal, in the coming season.

The main story was published yesterday, and today The Sun is claiming that Rose got a hero's welcome.

There is no way the paper could know what kind of reception he got.

Give the story at least 48 hours to make this kind of bollocks seem even half plausible!

Alli to replace Coutinho at Liverpool next summer and earn a decent wage playing for the club he supports?

  12. Defender Danny Rose has issued an apology to Tottenham for his recent "ill-judged" comments about the club in a newspaper interview.
    (Breaking News on BBC website)

    More to follow soon.

So, he got a "hero's welcome" yeah?

The silly ****er would have been roasted, and now you are going to see some of the greatest back-tracking since Pixie realised Wenger is a spent force.

That's the apology. Not buying it.

Why are Spurs not re-investing the extra Sky TV money that all teams are getting, in paying their top players?
If they are not doing so where is the money going?
Why haven't Spurs added any quality to their squad?
Spurs have sold Walker with now Rose looking to go, why are Spurs selling their best players ?
Answer to all is because of the financial constraints of having a new stadium to pay for.
Spurs can't afford to pay what other teams can, and are selling players for big sums and not replacing them or replacing with lesser paid players.

Where have I heard all that before ....

He has put himself in the shop window on purpose so he won't care what teammates think, and if they all get a pay rise then he will be a hero.

    #4435
  16. Poch has said that he expects 3 or 4 players to come in before the window closes.

Also, I think it has always been on the cards that our key players will be getting pay rises.

The sour grapes from Rose is, I suspect, due to the fact that he isn't getting a pay rise on account of his having been injured for a significant proportion of the season.

  17. Our players will all get pay rises in line with the club's policy.

Rose couldn't give a **** about his "team mates." All he cares about is himself.

We have. The Pochettino with his arm around a player thing became a meme last season because of it.

We gave out loads. I think that Alderweireld was about the only one that didn't get one.

So how come the players are getting such a low salary in comparison to the big clubs or are they happy being underpaid as they know they don't have to win anything to get paid
