I agree. Maloney would have been excellent in this league. Shame he's hung up his boots, but good luck to the lad.
Agreed, 2 on the bounce! Long been an advocate of Clucas. He came in to the game late and I still don't think he's reached his peak. If we are to have a whiff of promotion - keeping a player like Clucas is infinitely more important than keeping a player like Davies or Huddlestone. Sam's career is on an upward trajectory, so with a few of those type of players we'll do well.
We usually agree about football; strange but true. Larsson is the only exception, of late, but your remark (above) is a part of that - but not all of it. Not regurgitating old argument, as TWT.
Joe Ledley, Guiseppe Rossi, Chico Flores, Zoran Tosic, Youssuf Mulumbu, Jason Lowe, Kieran Richardson, Reto Ziegler, Oleksandr Gladky. There's a few.
Re Larsson for me it's a no brainer. He simply brings vast experience at all levels into the club. Whether he plays much only time will tell, but he's a great option off the bench and even to have around training. He'll help the younger players, whilst he's older in footballing terms, he's also dropping a division which will be a help. There's plenty of younger players on the pitch that can cover the ground. I just think he's a top addition for more than just what he offers on the pitch. Like Meyler, Dawson, Campbell and McGregor. Some desperately needed experience.
I can understand all of that, but can only really agree with the dropping a division bit, as that might be the unknown that pleases - but my gut sees Championship players not entertaining what I have seen of him. His experience is good, granted, but surely his level of experience is around the club (or could be) and shouldn't cost a player's wages and a squad place. TWT
