Who is our captain now when Leon doesn't start? Nobody stands out as an obvious choice for me. Routs?
Wayne was handed the armband when Leon went off against Sampdoria though if I could choose it would be Mawson as despite his limited experience he has the leadership qualities that were lacking under Cork last season.
Tbh I'd rather Mawson just have another season to concentrate on developing. Then again, other than him, there doesn't seem to be any stand out leaders in the squad.
Valley I agree, I would give it to Mawson, the way he was at the u21 euros although not named as captain, probably was the one on the field. He gives everything and is vocal.
I'd be chuffed with a draw tomorrow. I don't care how we play, just get a point on the scoreboard. We can worry about how we play when our final team has been established after the transfer window.
