The Tottenham Hotspur "Spiral" Watch

Discussion in 'The Premier League' started by The Ginger Marks, Sep 13, 2016.

  1. How does that nullify what I have said?

Yes, Wenger was a dickhead for suggesting that he should win a trophy for coming 4th. No Spurs fan would ever suggest such a thing!

Wenger spent two decades in the top 4 and playing CL footy, and only won a paltry handful of domestic trophies for it, yet Spurs are getting criticised for winning nothing when we have only just set out on our top 4 journey.

Come back to me in 18 seasons' time, and if Spurs have been at the top that long and still have won nothing, then I'll listen to your bitter side-swipes. Until then, you are doing nothing more than making yourself look foolish, Tobias.

And I say that with love in my heart, mate.

It's happened before with Gabriel and Costa when the pair pissed about at Stamford Bridge during the same season.

You've managed to contradict your own point there in two sentences! <laugh> Brilliant.

  4. Or, we do what we were always going to do (and which has probably been the reason for Rose acting in the way he has), and keep Rose on his £65k a week, whilst improving the contracts of those that are fully fit and whom we intend to keep.

He's an Evertonian and a local lad, he's been offered £100k a week, we've just resigned his boyhood hero, the club is on the up, on and off the pitch under our new owner, and yet he wants to leave?

The truth is he's had his collar felt after he's got the wrong side of some local *cough* businessmen. Remember him being sparked out in a Liverpool pub in the Spring? That was no random act. Strangely he's now dropped the charges against his assailant. He needs out of the City.

That's exactly what I said. Gabriel successfully appealed his red and got banned for his other behaviour, anyway.
There'd be no risk for Vardy if you were right. He wasn't charged with improper conduct, so he'd get off if he hadn't dived.
Even in a worst case scenario where they charged him in response to the appeal, which wouldn't happen, he'd serve the same one match ban.
Doesn't make much sense, does it, AK?

So you welcome his sensible decision to leave Everton, then?

  8. Who is going to pay a crocked player £200k per week?
    <doh>

@PISKIE 1 FUM for Akky, and you can have the WUM self-love points, mate.

No, I think he should either front it out or sort it out. Running away is the action of a ****house in my book,

Drop them some cash, apologise and move out to Formby, job done.

Instead he's doing one like a Mary.

Paying off the local crooks? They'd just be back for more.
Why bother when he can go somewhere else and not have that kind of crap all the time?

The kind of people we're talking about won't find London hard to find like.

I think he's been extremely badly advised and he's made a bad call for his own career. He'd not be a regular starter in any of the sides in the current top 6, and he's the type of player who needs to be playing every week, both for his fitness levels and his rather fragile confidence levels.

  14. Levy has been very astute by increasing key player contracts as and when they have shown promise.

There are a couple of contracts that he needs to sort out, chief among them being Alderwiereld's contract. I have little doubt that the player will be holding out for top dollar, which he has a right to do, being the best CB in the division.

I fully expect the player and the club to come to a mutually beneficial arrangement.

You said you'd never taken the piss about the Gooners and their 4th place trophy every year, you lied.

    Happy to help <ok>

That's a very naive view of the situation HIAG.

The Standard (which you hail as the bastion of truth) has already come out and said that other senior Spurs players feel the same way that Rose does.

It's no big secret really and no surprise. Why would players like Kane, Ali, Erickson stay at Spurs on **** wages, when they can earn treble elsewhere and win trophies ?

  17. How do you know?

He's crocked at the moment, and there is no telling when he will return or, when he does return, whether he'll be any where near the play he was.

Any intelligent person can see that that was the reason for his ill-advised rant to the press.

    Such delusion.

Fill your boots mate. Spurs players are happy to be paid a pittance and sit back and watch other teams win trophies. <laugh>

I can see why you're content with the situation, after all you said that football isn't about trophies.
