And now Koeman has confirmed that they have received no bids for Barkley and that he could play for Everton next season. Well that's a U-turn if I've ever seen one My gut feeling is that if they don't get Siggy, he'll stay.
The trouble is your comments are largely speculation because you are talking about 'reports' rather than facts. Agents are deliberately clouding the water all the time in order to get their charges better deals or more money for themselves from transfers. Even if we go on to sign Pereira it doesn't prove the earlier rumours, and even if the earlier rumours are true we don't know that the posts have not been moved in the mean time by the Walker transfer or other potential transfers we know nothing about . Based on all that I find it difficult to make any comment at all.
Fair point...... but they do live in a different world to us from a revenue perspective, enabling them to splash the cash.
No chance. Barkley wants outand Everton can't afford him to leave for nothing next summer. Koeman's trying to set right the monumental gaffe of saying he was definitely being sold for not renewing his contract. Everton may be portrayed as the new Citeh but all they're doing is re-investing the proceeds of selling their 2 best players with more players that are of a lower quality. He'll be gone this summer, guaranteed. Maybe not to us now that we look like a club in turmoil but gone, nonetheless.
I agree. The only thing we really know as fans is who we have signed and who we have sold and when. So all we can judge on is whether we have as good a team as we ought to have given where we started from. All people make mistakes, and every process can be improved. The secret to success in any field is to improve something without accidentally damaging something else. For example it's probably impossible to design a process which gets us everyone else but not Sissoko. Because if you put in an extra constraint that ensures you didn't sign Sissoko that might have stopped you signing Lamela or Dele Alli.
I saw a (unverified) comment earlier saying that Poch was the one to pour cold water on the Pereira deal. I have the sneaking suspicion that what's holding any any movement on that deal is less anyone at the club saying yay or nay, and more to do with the club offering £15m which would have no doubt pissed off Porto as anyone with an internet connection knows we the £22m release clause is covered by the January sales of Carroll and Bentaleb...
To save anyone that doesn't want to sit through it: 2017-18 PREMIER LEAGUE SQUAD NUMBERS 1 Hugo Lloris 2 Kieran Trippier 3 Danny Rose 4 Toby Alderweireld 5 Jan Vertonghen 7 Heung-Min Son 9 Vincent Janssen 10 Harry Kane 11 Erik Lamela 12 Victor Wanyama 13 Michel Vorm 14 Georges-Kevin Nkoudou 15 Eric Dier 17 Moussa Sissoko 19 Mousa Dembele 20 Dele Alli* 23 Christian Eriksen 27 Kevin Wimmer 29 Harry Winks 33 Ben Davies 37 Kyle Walker-Peters 38 Cameron Carter-Vickers *As last season, name to be displayed as ‘DELE’ on match shirts.
In other transfer news, Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung are reporting we turned down a £20m bid from Southampton for Wimmer. Difficult choice this one: do I make a crack about Van Dijkhead or do I make a suggestion about Soares?
Poch's press conference is going to be worth watching today. I hope he and Levy deal with this Rose situation accordingly. Ignoring it or sweeping it under the carpet is going to give the press a field day.
Ignoring might be a very good way to deal with it. Indicating the importance the club gives to policy statements from the Sun and Rose. i.e. ZERO. What reports? In the Sun you say! No never read it, it's not a serious paper is it! Next?
Haven't they banned the ****ers from The Scum yet? There is just nothing redeeming about them in the slightest.... even before the Rose debacle. God! Between the godawful press and the complete shower of **** we have as politicians in this country, the future is looking so depressingly bleak.

SSN running with this now, without attributing it to the Fail so perhaps this one has legs. This would be a classic, under the radar move that is in line with most of our transfer business. It's almost as if the club is now trolling Rose by picking an unheard of player with the longest name in La liga just to add to his time on Google I know nothing about him other than the fact that he is a strong, athletic engine of a player in the middle of the park. Reassuring to know that someone has noticed that Dembele's hamstring isn't getting any younger.
Pape Cheikh Diop ?? My immediate thoughts are if he signs, this will be the song that must be adapted by the WHL faithful :
