Success often breeds more success, is the point.

  2. Don't try to argue these points with Pixie, mate.

His scratch 'n' sniff knowledge of these things make it difficult for him to reason and argue. You only have to cast your mind back to how you tore him apart over that whole "net spend" issue, to realise that.

So why wouldn't that work for Spurs if your two Jew boys pumped in millions? Obviously it's a winning model to follow but wait......Jew boys. <laugh>

What everyone forgets is that we were very close to going out of business. I defy any one on here to say they would have turned Roman down.

    An anti-Semitic Chelsea fan? There's a shock.
You do know that the entire reason that you've still got a club is your Jewish owner, don't you?

So what you're basically saying, is that Spurs are ****ed forever, and you have no chance of any consistent success, because you dont make enough money?
    <laugh>

  9. Who's being a dick? Certainly, not me.

You are trying to convince me that Chelsea became successful because it won things, and I am telling you that it only won things because of Mad Dog's investment.

So, what was the important factor? The billions that you sold your soul for, or the winning that came after that?

I know you've already convinced yourself on this subject, Bod, but don't try and convince me, because I am not blind or stupid, mate.

Exactly, he almost bought Spurs......would be interesting to see their attitudes today if he had bought Spurs way back when.
They would all be singing a very different tune <laugh>

Instead they all became experts on Russian politics haha
Again, its the Spurs fans that do this ****. It's always the Spurs fans.
Always the first to point out something negative in another, always the most jealous, always the most bitter.....

No, I'm saying that we have to do things a little differently and it's more difficult that way.
There are five clubs with more money than us, so we're going to get outspent by them.
We need to create a reliable academy and use it well, while buying sensibly and keeping costs down.

The new stadium should help to reduce the financial difference, but we'll still probably be stuck behind for a while.

HIAG said the game wasn't about trophies in that post, which is quite clearly - horse ****.......the rest of what you've put there is your view and not the one that I was replying to btw.

Sustainability Is the goal, but there's more than one way to achieve it, as City and Chelsea have clearly shown.

If I was a Spurs fan I'd be fuming that Levy hadn't brought in a couple of top quality players this window, as that side has come close to winning the title 2 years running. Instead you've lost one first teamer and look likely to lose another. That's going backwards, and it's quite obvious why, as the stadium development is eating cash due to Levy's chosen funding method.

How the **** did we sell our soul? We were nearly gone to the wall. What were we supposed to do, turn Roman away?

Right..........I am saying the same thing moron.
Romans investment helped us win all that ****.....but its only because we won all that **** that our revenue got higher......if you win things, whether the win is financed by Dow Jones, Banker crooks, Russian Oil magnates or Saudi ****rags, or by washing cars.........then it breeds more success.....

This whole thread is pointing out negativity about Spurs, you tit! <laugh>

I'm sorry that you can't accept the reality of your ownership situation and have a meltdown when people point it out.
That doesn't change the facts, though.

Oh dear, yet again you've walked into yet another **** up <laugh>

The proposed 80 acre site is adjacent to Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium and will have state-of-the-art training facilities for the senior team as well as players from the Academy. Facilities will include offices, 16 and a half training pitches as well as a youth stadium. The Academy will be able to host up to 400 young players with classrooms for 200 and there would be on site accommodation for junior and senior players. A bridge linking the site to the The Etihad Stadium and the rest of the Etihad campus would also be built. BAM Construction has been roped in for implementing the project which should be operational by the 2014/15 season.

The area under construction had been facing years of decline and much of the ground had been contaminated with pollutants from Manchester’s heavy industries. In an effort to contribute to the local community, the club have already detoxified the construction area and have allotted 5.5 acres for community use. Manchester City has taken a keen interest in the betterment of the local community and this project hopes to create many new jobs for the locals. Much of the construction materials and service suppliers are also being sourced locally as a means of giving back to the community.

At the outset, the picture seems quite rosy but could there be ulterior motives behind the massive investment in the project? Manchester City was in the news for selling the naming rights of The City of Manchester Stadium to Etihad Airways for £ 400 million over a period of 10 years. Several people from the footballing fraternity raised objections regarding the total amount of the sponsorship deal as well as the links of Etihad Airlines to the Abu Dhabi Royal family. The deal was worth over twice the previous record amount of £ 187 million held for the world famous Madison Square Garden. A similar deal sponsorship deal with Emirates Airlines for Arsenal saw revenue generated of a comparatively paltry amount of £ 90 million over 15 years. Etihad Airlines has also yet to post a profit in its history and questions were thus raised regarding the veracity of the deal. Many viewed it as an attempt by the owners at Manchester City to bypass the laws regarding Financial Fair Play and strongly called for blocking the deal.

It was later revealed that the naming rights were not for the stadium alone but for the entire 210 acre Manchester City campus being developed around the ground of which the 80 acre football academy is a part. Under the UEFA Financial Fair Play rules, any investments relating to the development of stadiums and expenditures on youth team programmes would not be taken into account.

In other words, the £ 100 million expenditure on the Academy would not be recorded while the revenue generated from the sponsorship deals and ticket sales arising from the same would be. The added millions would be critical towards ensuring Financial Fair Play for Manchester City.

  19. What the **** are you blathering on about, man?

There are a handful of posters on this board (one of whom I have on IGNORE) who's only purpose in life is to log onto this forum and rant on about Spurs!

They spend more time running Spurs down than they do supporting their own team!

You and I both know who they are, Bodi.
