After watching it all I never got a feminist propaganda vibe from it. In fact in the story many of the women are just as bad and in some cases worse than the men. To me its a critique of organised Religion and what happens if its taken to the extreme with political power, that Church and state should be kept well apart and as soon as Religion becomes politics someone suffers. Also has the edge of whilst you can condemn groups like Isis and Al Qaeda, there are plenty of Christian groups who would just be as bad if the had their way.
Watched the final two episodes of Ozark, turned brutal at the end. Well worth watching with good performances from Bateman and Laura Linney. Peter Mullan is also in it as king of the hillbillies. @Red Hadron Collider
Yeah, I just realised what you were saying and had a look. Marling wants 3 season but Season 2 isn't going to be until 2018. Really not sure on this, could go very wrong especially with such big gaps.
A few questions on GoT Spoiler: things that don't add up ok so a few things: 1. deanrys caught the lannister army or some of it out in the open. thats nice but.... she burnt every bit of the wagon train which was the food she was just whining about not being able to feed her army.... that was stupid no? 2. how the **** do the lannisters manage to march all the way to highgarden from the rock then back to kings landing i nthe space of an episode. How do the dolthraki get there in the time it takes her to hear about highgarden. 3. How did deanyrs even hear about highgarden? a raven? who knows. 4. why did the scorpion have an arrow ready in it.. I mean i assume bron didn't load it up so it would be quite bad form to keep it loaded under tension all the time. weakens the mechanism you know. 5. if bran can't see arya coming to winterfell and was surprised, why does everyone assume he can see everything and knows everything? 6. will wormboy invest in a strap on? will he find one of tyrions old ones? only time will tell. 7. is ser davos sweet on missandei? 8. how the **** is the water right at the shoreline/ river bank so freaking deep that Jamie seems to have sunk below were light can get to... 9. why the **** is the latest maister at winterfell inventing a wheel chair but the last one was too stupid to go the same. imagine the savings it would have made for poor old hodor and meera who've had to haul his arse round in the freezing snow for seasons. 10. can anyone please explain how greyjoy ships can sail all the way round westeros, from black water to sink the unsullied ships at the rock without ever meeting said same ships..... anyone? like... how?
well you must admit.. also What i'd like to know seriously is: how the **** can jamie lannister hold a horse reins and ride it at full gallop using his golden hand while holding a spear in his left hand.. just a minor detail like...
Spoiler 1. Probably Yes. But now the Lannisters have no food in event of Siege and have lost a good chunk of their army in the process and guessing she now has control over the Reach again. 2. Yep the time lines are way ****ed up. Jon was able to make it to DragonStone before Bran and Ayra were able to travel the short journey to Winterfell. 3. Raven probably, sent out whilst under attack. Varys probably also still has spies. 4. Cinematic effect 5. Can he see the future? He can see what has happened and presumably what is happening. Don't think he was surprised to see her more that he was surprised she came home rather than pursue her list. 6. I'll leave that one alone. 7. Yes, but not in a sexual way, I don't think. More of looking for a Shreen replacement, he's also fatherly to the Mormont girl 8. Again Cinematic effect... but it was stupid 9. True 10. Agreed this seems a massive stretch of the time lines
As for point 2 the creators and GRRM have always that what we see on screen is not a linear time line. Scenes jump around in terms of time. Easy cop out i know but thats their take on it.
As said above, season 2 is in the works. The creators always intended there to be a season 2. It left a lot open, but I think that is good. I'm worried answering the questions will ruined some of the charms. (Like how the force was ruined by mithlodians, or whatever they were in Star Wars)
