    So, anyway...

Is Danny Rose the voice of the entire Spurs squad? How many of them do we think are genuinely happy and are not at least thinking the words that Rose had the balls to say?

Think Kane and Loris are on £100, 000 per week and Dale is on £75,000.
To be honest ALL players are self centred greedy prima donnas. I never get players names on a shirt and not do my kids. I support spurs and do not expect players to give a **** about the club or the fans. Rose is being a dick just like others before and ones to come.
The only thing that winds me up is when fans defend players bring greed mo fos by saying shirt about "the going rate" or "we would all swap jobs to double our wages". Doubling our wages would lead to security, a holiday and a greater living standard. Someone getting £65,000 per week like Rose plus bonuses, plus endorsements will earn over £30m in their career as a minimum. They are richer than God but demand more. It ain't human nature to be a greedy **** cos otherwise no one would be a nurse, teacher, carer, home help etc.
I do not want us going bankrupt do if players can't survive on £4m per year and act like a **** to move then so be it. At least being sensible with money means their will be a spurs team to make me laugh and cry with my girls when I am an even older got!

Oh and to all those laughing at us now...remember this

  8. Depends how much Levy sells him for.

Anyone paying £50 million for him, which is what Levy will demand, will be taking a massive gamble on his fitness.

We finished 2nd without him. He isn't hugely important to us.

Also, he's complaining about earning £65k a week, but the idea that he's going to waltz into a club and earn more, when he's likely to play no more than half the season is deluded.

Danny Murphy, on TalkSport this morning, believes that Rose has had a falling out with the club, and this is his "come and get me" plea.

Rose speaking his mind is just the start, unless the players get what they want/deserve...

I can't see any other way round this other than Spurs looking at their whole wage structure and making it similar to the teams around them (if they can). I get that City and Chelsea are money clubs so it's not that easy. But Liverpool pay (and are willing to pay) more than Spurs. They need to at the very least match Liverpool for wages.

I suspect Everton might have a similar wage structure to Spurs, and Spurs have the far superior players.

It doesn't add up and Rose has outed Levy as being a tight ****er.

  11. A club has got to pay its way.

Spurs could easily go the way of Leeds or Blackburn, if we get this wrong.

If the nay-sayers are correct, and the current wage-structure means that we loose Alli, Alderweireld, and others, so be it. We'll pick ourselves up and we'll start again, with several hundred million quid in the bank.

It won't be the end of the World, and we'll still be in a better position than Arsenal.

    Or in the stadium.

Besides, it's pointless having £500m available if you can't pull in the top players, if you're fishing for Sissoko's and Lamela's you'll soon burn through that.

But not be able to sign any top players as they'll know you have a **** wage structure?

It's a gamble either way, but imo the safest gamble right now is attempting to keep up with other clubs. If you lose your spine, you're back to being a nearly club finishing 6th-8th every season.

I know that's going to hurt mate, but players want £££££

I would say this is an expected development of the Walker sale. It is clear that we will eventually lose players if they get so good that other clubs want to pay them more than we can afford. It is one of the risks of the strategy we have adopted.
I also think we are quite close to Arsenal's position a few years back but with the important difference that we are on an uptrend in league position whereas they have been on a downtrend. Given that we started as a mid-table club under Levy I think our current performance is more than I could have expected. If we had spent £1b on new players I doubt we would have done much better on league position than over the last few seasons (certainly many of those who have spent big have done worse), but we would probably have won a few trophies. But massive cash injections are not sustainable whereas our strategy is, with the proviso that the possibility of it going badly wrong is always there, and this season is the perfect storm with playing at Wembley and a risk of construction delays at the new stadium. If we don't get in the top 4 and/or win something else then several of our palyers will lose faith and we will have to rebuild (although Kane and Alli will command fees of way over £100m in the current market, so we could survive them leaving if we spend the money wisely).

All in all, not a bad result for a club that has never been quite of the status of Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal and has not sold out like previous smaller clubs like Chelsea and Man C have. We are currently a much more successful version of Everton.

  16. We've been significantly better than 'Pool for the last few seasons, and far better than United since Fergie's departure.

    But pay much less...

therein lies the problem, especially now players are speaking up without permission.

  19. I think the model that we are keen to adopt is Arsenal's model of a decade ago, which had an emphasis on youth and bringing young players through our academy. That's why the combination of (a) our new academy, (b) our new stadium, and (c) Poch is so very important to us.

I have said it before, but the best signing we have ever made is Poch, and he is the one that we need to keep.
