I've said this a million times on here, value a player at £50m and you best be prepared to stick him on a parity with a £50m player's salary.

Levy's model is value his players at £90m and pay them £20m players wages. He'll crash and he'll burn.

 

The way Mourinho has treated Shaw is weird imo. He publicly shafted him while he was dropped last season and then brought him on for half an hour in the home game to us, I watched Shaw quite closely as I like the lad. He had a good game. Then I'm driving home and listening to Mourinho saying he only had a decent game because he was coaching him throughout from the touchline. It was a totally unnecessary put down. He obviously isn't having the lad, and he needs to move on. I'd take him in a shot at Goodison.

 

Tel, this is a genuine question to you.

Bearing in mind that I am a perpetual wumster, as is evidenced by 99% of my output on this board, when you read my comments about Levy, do you think that they are:-

A: the heartfelt gospel truth
B: a direct peek into the inner workings of my soul
C: ripping the piss

Mate, get real.

I am reaching my peak and have probably only got one big contract left in me. Time is running out and I do want to win trophies. I will say this too — I will play up north. I don’t know exactly when, but I will get back up north and play some football somewhere. I’m not saying I want out, but if something came to me that was concrete, I’d have no qualms about voicing my opinions to anyone at the club. I know my worth and I will make sure I get what I am worth. I am not playing as well as I have done not to get paid what I think I am worth. Anyone who thinks this is primarily for money, that is not the case. But I know what I am worth. As with everyone else in my team, in my opinion, I am worth more than I am getting.

He's done a reasonable job. I've criticised him many times over his interference in buying players, and his mostly disastrous managerial appointments.

He's not a stupid man. I'm sure he realises that the pay structure has to change.

As far as Rose goes, for a guy who hasn't played in months and still isn't fit. And who owes pretty much everything to the current manager, he's out of order.

I'm sure the sun has sensationalised this - as I've said - I'd expect no less. But still very poor from Rose.

 

Very true Tel and a timely reminder to Spurs fans. Under Fat Joe & Danny they will never step up to big club status like us. They are basically the Skoda of F1.

 

It's his attitude mate, a lot of folk think it's to do with the lad's fitness but apparently he's as fit as a fiddle (although injured atm). He's apparently turning up for training late, basically just acting like a spoiled brat. I think he'll have fallen into some bad habits while out injured with his leg break, a fresh start will probably do the lad some good. I've no problem with Jose hanging him out to dry if the kid thinks he can just breeze through life here and expect to be treated differently to the other players who are committed.

 

Personally, I think Rose has signed his death warrant at Spurs.

I cannot see Poch wanting him in his team.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rose has already said this **** behind the scenes and pissed Poch off. Perhaps Rose knows he's going to be getting the Walker treatment, and this interview to The Sun is a "come and get me plea."

Perhaps the club wouldn't be adverse to landing another £50 million, especially for a crocked player?

I think anyone investing in Rose now is going to be taking a massive gamble.

Spurs have a new stadium to pay for too and with players demanding huge wage increases and transfers, this is why we are seeing Pooch coming out and saying that they will promote players from their academy.

Said it before, but Spurs are where Arsenal were 10 years ago. They face having to meet the financial commitments of the stadium, trying to prevent their best players from leaving, not being able to sign any top quality from the market.

We'll see over the next decade how much Spurs fans value the 'Top 4 trophy' after deriding Arsenal for it.

Wasn't that long ago that he was one of the best full backs in Europe, now he's a massive gamble. One has left and the other one is leaving.

He even reckons that paying the '****ers' low wages on long contracts is a winning strategy
