Would be genuinely surprised if it was Rose. He has regularly stared how much he respects Pochettino and this is not the behaviour of someone with respect.

I think it is likely to be Couthinio (excuse spellings) as he is rumoured to be desperate to go to Barcelona but then again it would be insane for any pool player to speak to the Sun.

I'm just hoping it's Sissoko but the cheque book part of the article kills that <laugh>

Yep, it's Rose. Really **** timing and a really **** interview. Sounds like a right dickhead.
Signed a new contract and has barely played a game since, still injured now and he comes out with this **** right before the season starts?
    What an ungrateful, immature ****er.
Same agent as Walker and he's clearly got in his head.

He's going to get slaughtered over this and then cry about it when he forces his move.
Lost all respect for the ****, frankly.

Should be ashamed of himself but he won't be.

Worrying. Really, really worrying. From one of my favourite players too.

Levy and Poch will be enraged by this but ultimately - the truth hurts more than lies. The bottom line is that every single one of our first team doesn't get paid 'what they deserve' relative to what comparatively mediocre players get paid at other clubs. Marko bloody Arnuatovic gets paid £35k per week more than him FFS!

We are in a very, very precarious position. Time is against us and I firmly believe - as I have stated on numerous occasions - that another trophyless season will lead to a deluge of interviews like this one. Toby will be next, then Dele, then Dier, then Eriksen. I can even see it happening in that order. We kid ourselves into blithely assuming that the players are all A-Ok with hanging around a year to move into a nice shiny new stadium. Give me a break. With the exception of Kane, I doubt any of our starters gives two serious hoots about Spurs moving to a new home. Sure - they'll talk about it a lot in interviews for the club's official website (no surprises there), but when push comes to shove, the Bernabeu, the Etihad and the Nou Camp are mighty fine stadia also. And they come with a career-supply of bumper wages and multiple trophies.

This season will be make or break in so many ways. Top 4 plus a domestic trophy is the absolute minimum to my mind or the host of players we have playing at their peak will begin to get very itchy feet.

I cannot remember ever feeling this deflated in a transfer window before, and I have lived to see some utterly ****e spectacles of us making a laughingstock of ourselves.

Unfortunately, it'll have been pre-planned and calculated and probably written by someone in the Communications Department of a club in Manchester or West London. There's nothing insulting or personally derogatory about the management in it but it suggests a complete loss of faith in the club's ability to compete and a desire to play his trade elsewhere. Coming on the back of United's reported interest being declined and Chelsea putting forward an equally derisory offer, this has been orchestrated to secure his departure.

Unfortunately, allowing Kyle Walker to leave was the first chink in the armour. Not replacing him with someone of an appropriate level has worsened it's effect. Very poor all round. There's a lot of work to do to set things right and not a lot of time left to do it in.

I don't think that it's anything to do with this. He just wants a lot more money and someone's told him that he can get it.
How many times did he say that he knew what he was worth?
City still only have one left-back and it wouldn't surprise me if it was them, again.
Tapped up Walker during the season and Rose is saying the same ****, just doing it publicly and to that ****ing rag, of all places.

He's regurgitating stuff that someone's said to him and making excuses to try and save face.
If you want to leave, then ask for a transfer at the end of last season and people will accept it.
Do this and you'll get a ton of totally deserved ****. What a ****er.

Agreed. The general consensus amongst most fans was that the bulk of that £50m would be pumped straight back into improving the position with an impressive acquisition, not a farcical situation where we're relying on an injured understudy whose best games have been against ****ing Watford and Hull and a 20 year old with a similar name to the player we sold, who hasn't kicked a competitive ball for us.

Something is drastically, drastically wrong at the club. Enough of this 'let's wait until the big bullies get tired on the swings and let us use the playground' bullshit. Because that is exactly what it is. Utter bullshit. The same variety of bullshit we have seen and suffered every single transfer window bar 3 of the past decade.

There are more parts of it and it gets worse, unbelievably.
“Man United, more or less, are there — although I hear Mourinho may want one or two more players — but I am sure he’d be happy with his squad."
Any positions in particular, Danny? Left-back, maybe?

I understand waiting for Barkley. Going in when Everton were asking for £50m would have been pointless. However, leaving players on long contracts to the last minute achieves nothing to my mind. We're as likely to get outbid in May as we are in August.

While we've been out in America someone's been in Rose's ear. I'd not sell him, no matter what he says or does. **** him. If we sell, we're Southampton and whoever it is will be back for the rest of the team.

Disagree...those with money get whoever they want.
And I do not want our club spending what we can not afford while building a stadium and ending up like we did in 1991 when we nearly went out of existence 9 yrs after building the West Stand.
United proved that last season. No CL football but they got the money to splash out on Jose , Pogba, Ibrahimovic and co. This season they spend even more meaning they have spent over £300M in 14 months.
City have spent money on Pep plus a further £370 M on players in the past 14 months.
Chelsea have almost as much money and spend it.
We are lower down the pecking order and players grow up knowing they can get astronomical amounts of money so they think they are not being paid "their worth" when they are on £65, 000 per week plus millions per year on top of this from interviews and endorsements.
It's why fans are slowly moving away from going to football. Look at the swathes of empty seats at City and Arsenal at times.
I love being a spurs fan and do not expect the players to feel the same...but I do expect them not to mug us off but they do...time and time again.
Like I said earlier, he should feel ashamed but he won't.

    Agreed.
He's only got a few demands: money, trophies, for the team to buy players who don't need googling (like Danny Rose 10 years ago?), to go and play up North (maybe Machester-I hear it's commutable to Leeds from there), an England place for Russia.
Freeze him out. let him sit on the bench.

The policy of keeping a group of players together and rewarding them, individually, as they progress with renewed, long term contracts on increased wages seems sound in principle.
But Walker broke ranks and his move away seemed inevitable from the later part of last season onwards.
Spurs have not yet replaced him and now another player is restless.
What's Alderweireld's contract position? He hasn't committed his future to Spurs.
It appears that it doesn't take much for the wheels to come off.
The idea that Spurs players are wholly loyal to the club and don't look with envy at players on double their wages is naive.
I think Spurs approach is very noble. I don't advocate paying £90M for Lukaku or paying Ibrahimovic the best part of £300k p/w plus bonuses, but the money sloshing about in football and the market it creates dictates what happens however much you try to buck the trend.
The wheels haven't come off for Spurs, but it looks like some nuts are being loosened.

Does a player not need to get permission from their employer/club before they can give an interview?
