Perhaps. Long day. I was being an it dramatic

But there will be no pace up front at least

We will need more attacking pace if long goes. We did anyway even with him

Long may want to go, but otherwise I can't see why we'd let him go. He's a good third choice striker....a hard position to fill in a team like ours. We haven't got the kudos to keep players happy on the bench.

Seemed to scare defences. I believe rival fans and players often comment on this. Even if we say it is aimless

Brighton are looking for a striker. That would make more sense to me.

Played properly, he does scare and stretch defences. Last season just didn't suit him.

He could do alright for a promoted team, and we would probably sell for a reasonable price. Hard to see who we replace with though, I don't expect to see Gabbiadini and Austin together much, so I'm not sure how another striker gets much time on the pitch.

I like Burnley, they never buy anyone who's not from UK or Ireland. If this was FM, they should consider upgrading their scouting range.

They do have the Austria U20 international, Ashley Barnes. According to Wikipedia.

When considering striker options, don't forget Redmond is the new Thierry Henry

Absolutely. People forget his 15/16 season. If he could replicate that he would be higher than 3rd choice. Having a manager that believes in him and gets the ball to him would be good.

Or just doesn't play him as lone striker!

Part of a front two, or coming in off the right, he's excellent at both.

I like Shane, I think he adds to the squad, just not as a starting lone man up top. Anybody who can inspire this song is awesome, even if he's just not that good at football

I am still disappointed that everyone doesn't sing the Shane Long Song at St Mary's.

They wouldn't keep in time with Tequila, with suitable modifications for Lemina, they'll never manage an actual tune
