So what? He deserved some loyalty after what he did for you. Shakespeare pulled you out of it and he barely hung onto his job after our game, by all accounts.
The playing staff? What the same ones who he managed to the league title like? and the same ones who decided to turn up again after he'd been shot? There's your issue, they're a set of ****s
You were also doing well in Champions League , he was doing a balancing act with a small squad . Much like when Laudrup got sacked . 10 teams in a relegation battle and we made it to the final 16 of Europa and were into the 5th round of the FA Cup when Laudrup got sacked .
You weren't even in the relegation zone. It was far from certain that he'd take you down. If you were a player there, then how much loyalty would you expect and how much would you be prepared to give? Hardly surprising that Drinkwater and Mahrez are desperate to leave, really.
Drinkwater is desperate to leave? News to me. As for Mahrez. He deserves Champions League football, we can't give him that at the moment. and i've told you time and time again. We hadn't scored a league goal for two months. We were heading down for sure.
With all respect you clearly didn't want us if you think that. The players have been shown plenty of loyalty with big contracts
I heard that Laudrup got the boot because of some off-field issues, though. Something dodgy to do with his agent and transfers. That would also explain his subsequent career.
I mean, we did do well in the Champions League but it was a piss easy group and had just been thoroughly embarrassed by Sevilla (only Vardy's late goal spared us). Only Spurs had an easier group.
My theory ... Williams set his agent free every transfer window and when he did it with Laudrup ( Laudrup never let players dictate anything ) Laudrup set Laudrups agent loose to sell him . Williams got a lip on and belly ached and Jenkins ( our chairman ) told the agent to hit the road . Next thing you know Williams and Monk got in Jenkins ;s ear and Laudrup was sacked and Monk became manager and willams pledged himself to Monk .... Back stabaton .
I heard this, but at the time that it happened: http://www.espn.co.uk/football/swan...tumlu-accused-of-profiting-from-swansea-deals
We played away at Southampton with Drinkwater right wing, Mendy left wing and 3 strikers. We were duly beaten 3-0 with a 4th incorrectly ruled out against a side that had lost 4 on the bounce having conceded 10 goals. That's the stand out example of the complete lack of football nous that Ranieri showed last season. No wonder the players were pissed off although I doubt they were as pissed off as the fans.
