As an I about the " Yanks " wanting to sell without his involvement from you .Something neither can prove , but the truth will come out evenyually and we can talk then . It's not rocket surgery that something is wrong when he hasn't played any preseason and media reports are saying there is friction . 80% of our money goes to wages valley and I'm sure the other 20% doesn't even cover our overhead costs . Our ' Americans " are different from the Everton " American " and I'm happy about that . I want our club to continue to stay up without much transfer spending .Remember Big spending got us Baston
1) Gylfi came out and said he wanted to stay and if he leaves it's the clubs decision. It's a direct quote from him. 2) Clement has also come out and said he wants Gylfi to stay but 'football is a business'. Our Americans are money grabbing, penny pinching, opportunistic leeches. Everton's are investing in their club.
I suppose the question is why wont Everton increase their bid and there is going to be immense pressure at Goodison to come out of the season with something and at best I see that as 7th and that is by no means guaranteed.
www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40880108 Bartley was written off by many, but now has a chance to redeem himself. I'm personally very happy that he has been given an extended contract.
Don't believe what athletes tell , they have alternative motives . When they want to leave they put little snippets out in the media to deflect what they really want . I've played with thousands of atheletes and played against 10's of thousands of athletes and followed thousands of professional athletes . I know athletes and mannerisms of athletes . At this point , Siggy wants out , Clement wants him out and Everton know it and is why their backtracking the price IMO
I believe his contract has been extended for future sale if things don't work out for him till January . Just my opininion though . Hope he makes a complete dazzling player for us and remains but I have my doubts
If Siggy stays the the Americans are putting the club first over profit, oh happy days If he's sold for £40m or more then, although I may not like it as I still think we should have slapped a not for sale sign on him, I can forgive the owners. You can't really argue with them for selling Siggy for more than 50+% of the amount they paid for their entire stake in the club can you? not really and to top it off it would mean they made Everton pay through the nose so, all in all, I can accept that too. But if he goes for less than £40m then that means the seppos held out for financial gain alone and then bottled it by going back on their words and selling Siggy way below the valuation they placed on him in the first place. It shows they're push overs for profit and will make us an easy target in future negotiations for our players. It could even spiral us towards lower league football as it would mean that all of our players are up for sale to persistent bidders. Scenario 1 would be absolutely superb, 2 would still be Ok in my books but 3 would be a disaster but it would make the Bluebirds sing so, silver clouds and all that. On transfer deadline day we'll know if we're owned by American Business men or septic tanks.
I think that's the way it works for us Breezy, the other way is to let the contracts run down to the final year or completely and we've lost out in the past to that. We don't have the resources like Arsenal or, it would seem Everton, to let player contracts just run out as they have with Sanchez and Barkley. If Siggy was in his final year then would we still in negotiations? I doubt it, he'd be an Everton player by now if we did that. I think its part of any contract we have with players that we be allowed to maximise on their sale.
That's why the Americans extended his contract last season , so we could get a bundle for him if he does go . The club wouldn't let Gomis go to Marselle on loan unless he signed another season so we could make that 2 million or so when he was sold this season . It's how we do business and I like that about our club

1) Proof? He hasn't handed in a transfer request, hasn't refused to train, hasn't had his agent or a friend come out and say he's being unfairly treated a la VVD at Southampton. 2) Clement has said the exact opposite.
Come off the bench and score the winning goal for Everton you mean? I hope Clement sticks him in the squad for Southampton. He has been training and preparing for the game all week so it would be crazy not to pick him.
