I went on the Championship outright odds for paddypower and was suprised that we are now 2nd favourites behind west ham to win the championship! http://www.paddypower.com/football/uk-football/npower-championship?ev_oc_grp_ids=20188 I know its only bookies but its still very satisfying to look at
I'm not surprised by this at all. We were 16/1 before the season began and its down to 6/1 already, because the bookies can see what we all see and what everyone else sees. I can't wait to play West Ham so we can go above them too. I still think it will be a very tough game at Leicester though.
The market clearly thinks we're looking good right now! Can't argue with that ....but I think anyone getting in at 6/1 has missed the boat really - even 10/1 looked expensive.
Better value doing it on a spread bet - we are currently 75-77 for the season. Oh, and the thing that is always in the back of my mind is that if nothing else, a start like this certainly helps with recruitment: quality players will be seeing us a team that can be their route into/back into the Premiership. In other words, if you were a hot property being courted by a number of championship teams (or even Premiership teams that look doomed to relegation), who would you join?
You've played THREE games!! Granted, it's been a good start, but last nights results should have told you something about this league.
Lol we lost to pompey wtf ... anyway league 1 teams often start well with momentum but I reckon you will run out of steam after 10-15 games
Not surprise at all, I've said right from the beggining Leicester won't get automatic. However i'd be surprised if we can maintain this form for the whole season, but if we ca then we are gonna be up there!
I always thought West Ham would finish top and second place was up for grabs with no team looking like certainties. Leicester will probably improve but they will need to buy one or two more players and gel quickly if they are to catch up. Our current odds are a bit short I think but understandable with the way we are playing. Brighton showed last season that you are difficult to catch if you sprint away at the start. If we keep this run going for a few more games we could be well clear of Leicester and a few of the other fancied teams.
I cant believe im saying this but I agree with a pompey fan. There are 43 games to go in a league in which most teams can beat anyone on their day.
