Keeping him seems pointless to me now. We wouldn't be setting a precedent in football, West Brom did it with Berahino and while yes he was on a shorter contract, it didn't do them any favours. They didn't gain anything from it. And while it may be commendable etc. all it really meant was they had a moody player behind the scenes who didn't want to be there and no money to spend on improving the team on players that did want to be there.

With respect, you sound like Rednapp. Over the last three seasons we've been downright competitive. In fact, finished higher than you in the league more than once. If we didnt keep having our team dismantled we would be even more competitive.
