Grade two ligament damage apparently. Still could be worse. We could be victimpool who’ve seen Courinho move to Barca agreed for 81m. That’s the end of their season before a ball kicked Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Let's see how he's playing come Christmas. Looks like he could be a big part of TCs plans but if he doesn't deliver we have tons on that birth that can or will step in. As for beradi I can't think of another player in the last few years that screams Leeds like he does. *edit andy hughes * An easy decision for me, sign him up and show the others what bleeding for the shirt is all about and if they show the fight he does then the whole league will realise that what coming to elland road is all about.
There's something in the air at Leeds now. A fair few players have terminated discussions with other teams as soon as they've heard we were interested. I think the Alioski video captured what it means to a lot of them. I watched the match on Sunday with our new u18 goalie & his family, from my home town. Nice family, nice lad (Josh Rae, only 16). He came from Celtic, & turned down a 3 year contract 'on good money' to come here. Turned down Liverpool & Bolton too. It seems that people REALLY want to play for us again. No more ageing journeymen any more - just players that want to play for Leeds. Things are really looking up, but how can fans criticise our club with all this enthusiasm we see from the players?
WJ we are coming back. I can feel it like a storm in the air. If we did it last year it would have been by chance, luck and to be fair a good bit of recruitment by old snake eyes. But this is happening, we are a football club again on and off the pitch. We get lucky and these boys gel its this season, if not the foundations are there. That's not been the case since we've been down. We've been kicked and ridiculed for years now and its tcs job not only to bring in his philosophy but to show this group exactly what they can become. Not only to us leeds fans but to the whole of the football community with the draws of premiership millions and and the chance to be that one squad that finally put all the Billy paynters, all the Italian expertments and all the journey men who must have known they were nicking a living being here to bed and replicate what once was. Beradi and Pontus gets it and with a few wins hopefully the newbies will
WJ, I think it's because we have a good record of progressing from the youth squad into the first team (sadly we also have a good record of selling these players on to prom team clubs).
Great post Bucks. Definitely momentum gathering, great time to be a Leeds fan again. Hopefully we capture the imaginations of the next generation of fans over the next couple of seasons too, and establish a bedrock for the future.
Definitely a factor for the youngsters. No doubt about it. But it's working for seasoned professionals too. Someone is doing a massive PR job for us to sign the players we've managed to sign. This attraction we currently have must be manufactured. You don't get foreign players who've never heard of each other all acting in the same positive manner to join us. Something's got to make it happen. I have no idea what it is, but I want to shake hands with the strategist who's made this possible.
Also a couple of things I like by TC already (and he will live and die by his decisions not me) he turned around and said when Pennington was injured I'll be talking to the board about bringing in another CB. That got Grayson the boot when he wanted another bargain basement CB so there's some confidence In the relationship and belief in the plan behind the scenes regardless if it happens or not. And no one else has picked up on this but against Bolton TC threw on Sacko at the end of the game (ok he didn't have an impact) but when was the last time we saw a move like that to kill a game? Monk would have put on Dallas rightly or wrongly and hoped to weather the storm. We are better than that against the likes of Bolton and it put a cheeky smile on my face when that happened
Positive stuff, Bucks, but the significance of what TC said has just struck me - does it mean that we weren't getting a CB if he had to go speak to the board? I'm hoping it's a language problem & he was basically going to the board to say 'bugger the stalling over price - just pay them what they want'. I hope that's the case!
Director of football is in the mix now WJ so that's something we need to factor in. We got a lot of utility type players but square pegs and all that. A lot of people were banking on Pennington being a squad player, I'm telling you now that wasn't what he was brought in for. He's a starter or he would have gone elsewhere for games so expect a lesser CB to come in (no Bartley unfortunately) but on a brighter note, this kid from the scum will surprise everyone as long as we don't get on his back for being on of them. I've been talking to a few of the red ****s and they are fuming he's gone, but that's typical of Joses reluctance to trust youngsters. And if he isn't on his toes whose pushing to take that slot? Mr lufc of late Beradi who has never sulked or not given 100% even when the likes of Ayling came in. So no easy ride at left back for this kid but watch him go,
another positive as well is that the squad selected Cooper as the captain. That speaks volumes to me regarding what we should be trying to build. I don't rate him like a few do but when you get recruitment in the specialised area you make a living in (Pontus, Bartley, bamba shausenney of late) and it's not obviously put his nose out as a person shows he's up for a fight and the squad obviously buys into that. He's no starter for me but if the lads voted for him that's speaks volumes about his attitude and professionalism on and off the pitch
Not difficult for you WJ as you've nailed it. As you say if Bridcutt doesn't start it probably means he'll move on. Personally I think he'll play as TC knows he needs some experience in the squad.
Sorry but strongly disagree. We signed him for next to nothing but unfortunately only on a 2 year deal and he more than proved last season that he's worth an extension. Leaving a player who's excelled to feel insecure about his future would be a crazy decision. Therefore I hope for an announcement in the next few days otherwise there will be clubs banging on his agents door for a free transfer next summer.
I had an idea that Everton would be expecting to get a lot of game time, but it wasn't until we signed BJ from scum that I learned that such things are not only built into the loan agreement, but there are actually penalties if they don't get the game time promised. (Hoping a 6 week injury doesn't count when it comes to penalties). I like the look of Pennington myself. There's still a little bit of cockiness or slackness or whatever to get knocked out of him, but for his age, he is superb. He's ahead of what I'd expect. Reminds me of Woody in that respect. No idea about BJ, so have to cross my fingers. I know it didn't go well at Wolves, but that's been pounced on & used to suit certain agendas, so it's difficult to get to the root of it. Our management team are no mugs, so I remain confident until I can make my own assessment.
Have they selected Cooper? No announcement yet, unless I missed it. I posted elsewhere today that I wondered if someone who didn't play got the armband, but they were holding up the announcement until they played. Suggested to me that it was Pontus, rather than Bridcutt retaining it. But I think you're right about his attitude. He's apparently the life & soul of the party.
