Given our options in midfield, I don't know why any manager worth his salt would choose him over somebody who is a better footballer. That Marvin Johnson (Tattoos aside) looks ok. He's a winger that can operate left or right wing and has had according to the papers interest from a lot of clubs - PL clubs. Could be well worth the £2m quoted as his career is on an upward trajectory.
Oh the heart. It's not the Wizard of Oz. It endears him to fans, it does not make him a better technical player. You look at Huddlestone, Livermore et al, players who've done it at the top level. That's what you need. I don't recall them lacking any heart, they were just naturally better at football.
