By his type I mean experienced internationals , we should be aiming much higher with the funds we have taken in , but it looks clear we won't be , so if cheap and cheerful is all we can hope for, I think we could do worse.

The thing I don't understand is how Slutsky has mentioned having potentially one dream signing late in the window... Why late in the window? I genuinely believe Ehab doesn't want to pay any player a single week's worth of wages for any longer than he has to and I think he has gone so far as to tell Slutsky this. We could get promoted this season and next season we would still have a squad full of loans. All conjecture but it just makes perfect sense from what I've seen and heard.
