Thanks for the heads up - wife enjoys 'Mrs' Brown so she may be up for it ..... certainly not my thing though, I'll be giving it a miss.
Ffs fella I'm calling you out just for watching it. What on earth was you thinking mate? Mods, ban Mr Moonray. At least from this thread. He's forfeited his right to express opinion on films. Spez mate, file for divorce, she's not good for you.
Next time the opportunity arises, I'll juxtapose the two and think on. However, a lonely Eve Marie Saint - ach. Not likely to find that on the TP Express.
Great Expectations , the one with John Mills - think David Lean was the director . The Full Monty , great movie even with the vermin football shirt . Dial M for murder , Grace Kelly - beautiful . Muriel's wedding . ABBA music too. Beaches - get the tissues out . Not in that particular order .
There's a bit of Carmine's guilty secret here. I quite often (after a few sherbets) laugh at MBBs, as the lass likes it. But that film, Jesus, do me a favour. You really have hit a nail on the head. Good call.
Whats the name of the film with Hugh Grant and Peter Coyote and this French bird, who meet on an ocean liner. One of the best films I seen in the past 10 years.
****ing hell? Working my way down. Will counselling work for us or are you going to be a **** about it.
Great Expectations- good shout there Citygirl. Hell of a plot. I raise you David Lean's 'Lawrence of Arabia.
Pearl Harbour FFS, theyve struggled to make a really classic Pacific War Film, tried with Flags of our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima, the Pacific series was never as good as Band of Brothers. Best they managed has to be Empire of the Sun, young Christian Bale brilliant.
I really liked Flags Of Our Fathers and Letters From Iwo Jima. Pearl Harbour's a bit **** but it's nowhere near one of the worst films ever made.
Any film where David Lean directs is good, that is a given. Same with Carole Reed, The Third Man. Fallen Idol, Oliver! amongst others.
Extending the list If..., a classic of the time, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Pimpernel Smith and The Scarlet Pimpernel both with the great Leslie Howard, and virtually any film with James Cagney, Edward G Robinson or Humphrey Bogart.
