well what pile of ****e that was.
Questions rigged to get answer DWP want the woman , who claimed to have a nursing background, appeared to know nothing about any medical condition . Wanted the wife to do some tests i.e. lift one leg etc but told her to hold onto something to make sure she doesn't fall over then notes she has completed the tests <grr>
Insisted on asking every ****ing question even when the answer was bleedin obvious.
I'd have a drink if i wasn't off to my physio appointment in 30 mins.

might as well start preparing the appeal now

Good luck mate. I didn't know your wife was disabled, must be a challenge.

My beautiful MIL was latterly in a wheelchair and it was disgusting the way people only spoke to the FIL pushing her and not her personally as if she wasn't there. If anyone did converse they spoke slowly and loudly as if she was mentally incapacitated - which she most definitely wasn't. A lot of times people who should know better associate physical disability with mental disability, I sincerely hope you haven't had to put up with this. Disability of any kind doesn't diminish your right to be respected as a person. Heartfelt wishes for a good outcome.

the whole purpose of the DLA to PIP benefit change is to reduce / remove it from people. The wife will still qualify but the way she (appeared) to be interpreting the answers will probably lead to a reduction .
I maybe maligning the poor woman though who knows.

Request her specific qualifications in the appeal if she puts any bollox in her report.

When was she a nurse, how long for, what level..how long since.

I thought Doctors had to do the assessments? Did that change or am I jyst plain wrong lol

no doctors after all they're expensive.

tbh they just ask questions from the computer programme which pretty much reflects the original claim.
The trick if an appeal is needed is just check the descriptors and the scores and ensure you fit them.
Since the wife has clear physical disability and hardly any usable speech i thought it was a bit of a shoe in so hadn't bothered.<doh>

Just been having a bit of a search and found this, might be helpful .... https://www.moneyadviceservice.org....hat-to-do-if-your-award-is-reduced-or-stopped

''If you believe the decision is wrong, you can ask for it to be looked at again. You must do this within one month of getting the decision letter. This is called a Mandatory Reconsideration ...... You must ask for a reconsideration before you can appeal against the decision.''

i'm pretty au fait with the system so i know what to do if don't like the decision.
think a lot of this is just the process made me angry as it felt (correctly i'm sure) that the QA session was designed to overstate peoples abilities .
Mind you to think i was worried about the wifes reaction when its me who got wound up & she is sitting there telling me to chill.

There's something very distasteful about someone coming into your home to see if you're 'ill enough' [or however it should be worded] when there's loads of people conning the system by claiming ££ x 1000's illegally. There was a programme called Saints and Sinners that exposed loads of con artists, fooling the various systems. Some of them - if not most - were outrageous.
