I don't do gloss anymore - don't like the shiny finish - satinwood for me. Washable, self undercoating, touch dry in about 3 hours and you can use it on radiators as well <ok>

I saw that come up when I was looking for paint. Might be better option than gloss you reckon?

It comes down to personal taste. I don't like the shiny finish gloss gives woodwork. In terms of durability etc. no difference. Less smell imo, bit easier cleaning brushes but for me the major selling point is the finish, the satinwood looks better.

Yeah but the skirting gets covered in spatters from the roller I always used to do the woodwork last for that reason.

Yes there's that as well. Another thing is depending on your lighting,, the reflection off gloss can be a bit much.

Anyway mate sounds like you're doing an incredible job, takes some patience especially with the youngsters running round - touch ups and accidental leans on newly painted doors <laugh>

Got loads of them to do throughout. The little ****s <laugh>

I haven't touched any of the doors yet though, leaving them for the mrs (nm) as she likes "glossing"

Today i have the joy of having a "medical professional" visiting our place ,on behalf of the DWP, to assess the wife really is disabled. Could get nasty as following her stroke her speech is is generally gibberish but if people can't understand and don't make much effort she is likely to start shouting at them.Made worse by the fact she often says "oh yes i can do that" when in fact can she hell as like and this is really not the day to do that <doh>

BE warned if you are in work. this contains an absolute idiotic company who tried to "rebrand" a swastika as a symbol of peace on their clothing line.

If in work you could get in trouble looking at swastikas... i post as this is a real <doh> what kind of morons are you?

this is the sentiment behind it http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-29644591

but if you are going to do it use the old buddist version not the clear nazi one.

Good luck, you do hear horror stories about some of these DWP visits, hopefully the person who visits will know their stuff and give a fair assessment.:emoticon-0100-smile

    Cheers mate
yeah it aint much fun tbh made worse by the deterioration in my own physical abilities. Normal joke here is that between us we make a fully functioning human being (almost) <laugh>
these interviews make it worse though as normally i just fill in the forms but with this she has to hear how limited she is & i know she will get upset even though she already knows it but if feels worse having it discussed in front of you.
anyway gotta go they're due in 10 mins
