So much irony in VVD's statement. Annoyed that private meetings were leaked - what about Klopp and Blackpool being leaked? Been asking to leave for six months - why only now hand in a request? Insulted at accusation he's refused to train - that's not come from us, we asked him to train away from the first team and he said he's not in the frame of mind to play!? Insulted at not being allowed to leave - how about us being insulted that he still owes us six months of the contract we gave him because we were getting him back to fitness after an injury............

I hope the Board don't get a load of stick if (when) we sell him, wherever we sell him. All the **** here needs to be with VD (I'm dropping the other V from now on as it seems to work), his agent and I still believe Liverpool.

 

The sad reality is, outside of Southampton, it's not a big news story. Just another protracted transfer.
More page space will be given to Gareth Bales non-existent move to Utd, like every other year.

 

Spent ages looking to see if posted, but obviously didn't go back far enough. He's right to challenge Virgil on trying to shift the blame rather than just say that he wants to move (which would have been sufficient)....nothing he said will improve the situation....in fact he may have hardened Saints' position. And he is being pragmatic by saying that we should sell to the top bidder (obviously not Liverpool as they are no longer interested....being an honourable club). I know we should in the deep dark shadows of my soul, but I don't think VVD has suffered enough. And it's not my money.

 

I agree Bale will get more coverage, but it is a big transfer story because it involves Liverpool, hence Sky leading with it yesterday evening.

The part that isn't big nationally is the behaviour from VD. That's the bit the nationals will ignore.

I have been disappointed that in the whole sorry saga no one in the media has come out and condemned VD's behaviour. It illustrates just how football is now devoid of any standards of morality.

Football is morally bankrupt.

To put it bluntly football stinks and the foulest stench of all emanates from the city of Liverpool.

This sort of double standards crap from an article about VD in The Times is what pisses me off about the media:

The Brazilian is interested in a move to the Nou Camp but will not agitate to leave Anfield. The absence of a release clause in the five-year contract Coutinho signed in January means that Liverpool’s owners, Fenway Sports Group, can stand firm, unlike Barcelona, who were last week forced to sell Neymar for £198 million to Paris Saint-Germain. A bid of £72 million was rejected 18 days ago by Liverpool and since then there has been further dialogue between the clubs.
