Perhaps you should consider why your club's board always turns the fairly routine process of players changing clubs for massive profits into such spiteful experiences that generate more fan hatred than cases of players leaving for free?

Personally, he needs to be held to his contract at all costs. His conduct in the position he is in has been totally inappropriate. He's under 5 year contract, purportedly happy, captain of the team and been supported through half a season of injury. The Red ****ers have come along and turned his head illegally - again - ILLEGALLY and now VVD is acting like a right twat. So under no circumstances should we sell to Liverpool.

Those who believe that denying him the freedom to leave on the basis of what it will do to our reputation are worrying unnecessarily in my opinion. Players don't arrive at Saints knowing that they will grow and develop and that Liverpool will buy them in two years. They almost certainly don't arrive thinking they will be here till they retire either. By enforcing our strong position here we are simply saying that the reality lies between going when the first offer comes in regardless of contract and going when its mutually agreed. That is not a deterrent, its a fair and reasonable position. The player that thinks he's off to the Champions League in 12 months is better of waiting 12months where they are and we are better off giving them a wide berth.

Bertrand supposedly wanted out but he is currently being professional about it, thats the way it should be done. Let VVD go now and we are opening a huge can of worms with him and any other star player the opposition take a fancy to.

He's not for sale is the right position. The board have made the right call, I hope they stick to it and make VVD train alone until the point has been made. If we get a decent offer in January and he's been training alone for 6 months I'll re-evaluate my thoughts. But not to Liverpool. Ever.

We don't. Perhaps you should have a look at your recent transfer activity, pull your head out of your own arse and realise that you have been tapping up and poaching our players illegally for years. First through The England squad and now through your own manager. It should come as no surprise that our board and fans have had enough of the Scousehampton building and taken offical action about it. It's not spiteful, its a matter of right and wrong. Go away and read the grovelling apology your club issued a few weeks ago if you're unsure about the right and wrong of this VVD situation.

Isn't Liverpool also the club that simply refused to acknowledge or honour a player's release clause?

Shame not everyone around here understands constructive dismissal <whistle> even when we're not being very constructive.

Perhaps you should consider why no one appears to like you or your once widely admired club?

Has anyone listened to 5 Live with Chris Sutton and Ian Wright.

I literally couldnt believe my ears - we are a selling club, we should let him go, tapping up always goes on - what is our probkem. Nothing about our strategy to maximise an asset.

Is this the best they can do - I feel justified in telling them to piss off for their license fee, I don't watch BBC, in fact I have watched 3 raced from the World Championships and that is the only time I have watched the BBC all year.

    Complete ****wits.

There is no much wrong with the integrity of football; having such uneducated and ethically deficient so called experts neatly summarises the depths to which rhe football 'profession' has fallen.

Good old Adam. Someone did post this yesterday in amongst all the dross. Nice to read someone saying it how it is. Need a big national one to do it now, but they won't.
