You are driving yourself up a dead end again. He didn't try to wind me up, but he admitted he tried to wind others up. Notice the difference?

Why don't people think as you? They have chosen to see things that make sense to them.

Do you think that we exchange PMs and say we must gang up on this guy? If you do then you live on a different planet.

    1) So it is OK for You to accuse French is of waffling.. and me of being wishy-washy is it? Or when I ask you to use another thread because IMO your dicuss sion has gone off topic. You call me a hypocrite..? That is all acceptance is it?

2)Clearly the overwhelming number of posts are anti because most posters are.. Not rocket science is it?

    3) If you were to post around the issues and with respect then issues could be discussed.. But one sentence polemics just rile others as well as the insinuation that you are right and others wrong... But you know this don't you. I don't think you have any interest in discussing the issues. Do you?

You did not accuse him of winding 'others up' but to 'deliberately wind people up' notice the difference?

I can fully understand why you cannot find a coherent explanation for the absence of the posting of a broad spectrum of views, something that Leo was trying to promote before he left the board due to the extreme insults from some left wingers.

You go out SH and find some who wish to come this site and express views that accord with yours. Until then you are stuck with those who try to put forward their own thought out positions.

If he was driven off the board by left wingers can you tell me why the only person who managed to provoke him sufficiently so as to lead him to coarse insults was you ?

Please can we leave Leo out of this. He doesn't wish to be discussed when he is not here to respond. Thanks all.

There has been a problem with bullying from the clique with some extreme extra input from some unsavoury posters time to time. They all prevent proper free speech and debate. i would like to remind you of Leo's valiant attempt at the start of the year, see below

I understand what you are saying Yorkie but I do not want to just see the board continue where people post with venom. Whether that is against each other or by posting either snide or vicious comments against groups or people they disagree with. The only serious disagreements I have had over the last week have been about the style of this board. The posts I have engaged in other than those have been fine. If there is not a consensus that we need to cut out some of the anger that people feel against other political parties or groups then we will never be able to have a board that is beyond pure football - and that hardly needs modding.
I have not modded at all. All I have done is to argue for a board where we do not call people - yes people scum. I do not want to be associated with a place that is like that. If I am not able to carry a strong torch - of persuasion not modding - for that then I believe this board will never see others return or newbies arrive.
I respect all challenging views - I have no issue with people's opinions -only how they express them. You and others who used the "ignore" button recognise the importance of not just what we say but how we say it.
As I said in a post there is an axis of people with very similar views on here and most others on the political forum are close to their views. I do not think they realise how formidable and daunting they can be. When that is coupled with aggressive and insulting language it deters people from daring to give an opinion. I am fairly thick skinned yet even I have found it daunting when a group take issue with you. SH has been in that position for a long time. I know he enjoys a bit of rough and tumble and is suitably thick skinned and can defend himself - but is that really what we want?
If you want me as a Mod then you have to want me to try to keep this board pleasant. I am not a saint and make as many mistakes as others - but I try not to be personal and try to keep to genuine arguments. If that is how others want the board to be then support me. If not I am very happy to let another give it a go with their own style. I will not get rich on my Mod salary :)

I appreciate that Frenchie....but I do not think there is anything there which he would object to and it was not me who brought the subject up in the first place.

No, I appreciate that you didn't, and also notice that despite my polite request SH promptly ignored it.

Look at the timing of the two posts, simultaneously. You really have not got the hang of being a moderator.

Hardly the voice of all Germany SH. He was in the AfD until last year and only left because he was miffed at Frauke Petry getting the leadership - the AfD is the German equivalent of Ukip. Having said that it is true that Germany is concerned about the situation - the UK. is Germany's 3rd biggest business partner, and I find it strange that there are 4 French in the EU. negotiating team and only one German. But there is also a tendency amongst MEPs (particularly German ones) to be sceptical of the European Commission - there appears to be something of a power struggle going on between MEPs and the EC. in Brussels which will come to a head if Martin Schulz becomes Chancellor in September - with Schulz saying that MEPs could reject any deal arranged by the commission if they are not consulted throughout.

I suppose it was quite easy to find the odd MEP who was more concerned about the immediate financial consequences than the solidarity required to punish the UK whatever the cost to everyone. Hopefully common sense breaks out all round, although there are red lines I would not like to see crossed.
