What we ought to do is have private agreement with say, Swansea, to accept a £100m offer for him. When he declines to talk to the club we have a valuation for Chelsea of Man City to match.

Now that the dust is settling, I think I have to respect VVD's wish to play somewhere else. We just have to learn from this and if we give someone a pay rise and a six year contract, there should be a clause to repay the new salary if they then leave before 1/3rd of the contract has run.

And about time. Well done SFC for fining this greedy egotistical human two weeks wages when he has been taking the piss for months!
Seemingly having money taken from him has forced him into the official request, again, well done SFC.
As toxic as this situation is, we must not allow him to leave for a cut price deal, or it shows a path to others with a similar terrible attitude.
