I hope someone in the media comes out and reports this as it is. Not holding my breath though: refuse to sell him = holding a player back and cutting off our nose to spite our face; sell him = too weak and typical of a selling club (cue list of previous players who have left). The truth is that a rich spoilt player couldn't compromise and at least play for some part of his contract after being out for months and tried to negotiate behind Southampton's back and therefore compromise their ability to negotiate in a free market.

I'd hold out for a minimum of £75m this summer and even then would think twice. Sigurdson is about to go for 50m and van dijk is a league above him and younger. He is easily worth £75m+ in today's market.

Have you not seen the news that 'Coutinho has agreed personal terms with Barca' - we've said he's not for sale. It happens daily in football, most teams know this and it's swings and roundabouts how things turn out.

Southampton just happened to report it. The investigation said they didn't have enough evidence to take it further btw. If Les has further evidence he's held it back for a reason...

That reason will be they don't want to ruin future business between the clubs.
