Btw, if Coutinho's such a 'good egg', wtf is he doing 'agreeing' a contract behind our backs? Or was it behind Klopp's back, with FSG fully conversant? I don't trust the ****ers one iota.
Only we've not sold one player for big money that hadn't demanded to leave, and in case you hadn't noticed, we spent nearly £100m this summer before Lukaku went. That couldn't and wouldn't have happened under the previous regime. Lescott, Arteta, Stones and now Lukaku. Every club in the food chain is a selling club.
It's standard though. Club contacts agent, does player fancy it? Yes he does. How much will you pay him? Shed loads. He's up for it. All of that happens before the players current club are even contacted these days.
Agreed, but our owners aren't kicking up a **** storm claiming the player was "tapped up" Looks a bit like FSG are waiting to see just how much Barca are prepared to pay.
The Lukaku sale was pending, the amount known, players bought on the strength of this. You really believe a penny would have been spent if Lukaku wasn't going?
We would have never have had the cash to do so in advance of a sale before. Of course money would have been spent without him going. We've bought 5 players for over £20m each since Moshiri arrived and are just about to pay the thick end of £50m for one, with a striker and a defender to come in as well. Times have changed at Everton.
I honestly don't see it. You're only spending on the strength of sales. Obviously you're going to spend something regardless because of the huge increase in tv money. But I think Moshiri's got you all fooled.
You better get those last 3 players cos they will be the difference between nothing and improvement for you. Serious unimpressed with Rooney up front. You need that striker.. badly
Ideally, if we had really good owners, we'll take it right to deadline day, get them up to £120m and still say no so that it's too late for them to get another target.
We'll be lucky to get half of that for him given his contract length. We've not had any offer at all yet.
In fairness I'd much rather be in Everton situation that Southampton. Everton might actually progress whereas despite all the big talk Southampton have been going backwards for 3 years now.
It's the same as can. Nobody will pay big money with 12 months left. It will be a very late chance it bid by spurs.... they I think are relying in a cheap deal or 3 late this year.
Wishful thinking on your part that. He's put £80m of his own cash in, to clear our entire debt and leave some additional working capital. He's got us to the brink of a ground move to the Docks that would have been unthinkable only a year before his arrival. He's a clever bloke, and is proving it.
