Only we've not sold one player for big money that hadn't demanded to leave, and in case you hadn't noticed, we spent nearly £100m this summer before Lukaku went. That couldn't and wouldn't have happened under the previous regime. Lescott, Arteta, Stones and now Lukaku. Every club in the food chain is a selling club.
It's standard though. Club contacts agent, does player fancy it? Yes he does. How much will you pay him? Shed loads. He's up for it. All of that happens before the players current club are even contacted these days.

We would have never have had the cash to do so in advance of a sale before. Of course money would have been spent without him going. We've bought 5 players for over £20m each since Moshiri arrived and are just about to pay the thick end of £50m for one, with a striker and a defender to come in as well. Times have changed at Everton.
I honestly don't see it. You're only spending on the strength of sales. Obviously you're going to spend something regardless because of the huge increase in tv money. But I think Moshiri's got you all fooled.

Wishful thinking on your part that. He's put £80m of his own cash in, to clear our entire debt and leave some additional working capital. He's got us to the brink of a ground move to the Docks that would have been unthinkable only a year before his arrival. He's a clever bloke, and is proving it.
