    I know he's young and people may not have been impressed in the friendly, but Bedi comes with some reputation. If VVD stays, we may not sign another one. I'd like us to though.

    I'm not expecting another cb if Virgil stays. Think the Polish lad is Fontes replacement in a 'one for the future' kind of way.

    Stephens is 24 this year so if he's not ready for first team action now then likely won't ever be.

    JS came with huge potential which he is now starting to realise and will become a star.
    I have a feeling Bednarek may tread the same path given time and a little luck

    Nor me ... Stephens-VVD-Yoshi are a solid CB 3, with Bednarek as a 4th choice learning his way in the odd cup match/bench appearence (similar to Stephens last year I guess).

    Looks to me like Stephens has replaced Fonte, and Bednarek has replaced Stephens.

    Yeah I'd say so.

    When Virgil goes though we will obviously need a replacement, and we will need to be prepared to fork out for them too.

    I would hope that we Wimmer would not be for the price often mentioned (20m) and not as a replacement for Van Dijk - as surely he hasn't shown enough to make anyone believe he can step into those shoes
