What is worrying for me with all of these deals is just how much money in those transfers is going out of the game to the very people who are slowly strangling it.

And surely no thinking person can look at a 200 million euro transfer fee, and fail to wonder what it says about the modern world and it's values?

That's the thing that I struggle with the most. It really bothers me. It's an obscene amount of money that could be used for so much good. It can't go on like this.

 

It's almost getting to the point now where I feel like ****ing football off full stop.

It's my love of Saints rather than the game itself that's keeping me going.

I've said several times on this forum in the past that I am not a football fan. I haven't been for about 25 years. I am still a Saints fan. There is a difference. If Southampton FC had gone out of business in 2009 I would have walked away from the rest of football with not a backward glance. As I always say, the rest of football gives Saints a team to play against, and there the real interest ends.

 

See I've always been different as I'm a huge football fan as well as a Saints fan.

The way money has corrupted and ruined the game is sickening though.
