I realise this doesn't fit the agenda on here but surely this was down to Villla not Viking? If it had been another team at the KC it'd be either KCOM getting the flak or we'd be called small time by some of our own. This weird defence and victimisation of RH is ****ed up.
And you're too wrapped up in vehemently counter arguing with anyone having issues with every Ehab **** up, you're failing to see the delicious irony of the situation
Absolutely abysmal service by Viking, we have had years of service with hardly a hitch from Humberside but this lot fail dismally at the first attempt to ensure in good time that they have connection.
I would say my attitude towards excusing the Allams anythinhg is the polar opposite to Happy's. But on face value you would think fair enough; not great, but an understandable explanation and a reasonbable compensation. Is there evidence they are telling porkies?
No evidence they're telling porkies (or not from that statement anyway) However I do find it hard to believe that Villa don't have back up ISDN lines for resilience for occasions when one fails. It's not like they haven't had important games there before
An ISDN line requires connections made at two ends - the football ground and the radio station. The football ground has been establishing ISDN connections for decades, the radio station is the new kid on the block. The balance of probabilities is that it is Viking who screwed up, hence the discount offered. You'd hope they'd have the basics of broadcasting in place for next week.
I've no doubt they have other ISDN lines into the ground, probably more than one into the press room, but considering it is match day, they might well be allocated. You might well be right, but I find it sad that any old excuse is snatched at to criticise the Allams when there is so much more more substantial stuff out there. The fact that Burnsy seems to be using the misfortunes of Viking as a way to tweak his poor-loser-syndrome is particulary sad and unprofessional.
Of course, you are entitled to read this anyway you wish (which seems to be the case), but the wording seems to be well constructed in saying the fault was in the line given to them at the Villa end. I think the level of compensation is more to do with honest customer service and ease of repayment, rather than some suggestion of guilt. Anyway, a decent result and the pair of twats have some weeks left to improve the team.
As a recently relegated PL team. Villa will absolutely have ALL requirements in place for global broadcast on any platform.
