Tbf...i put Milner in a Lucas type bracket ( obviously not as long). Came in, head down, complete professional and can't see it being anything but good having him round the squad in his time. Age just catches up on everyone.
Defensively and Mid Field a shambles in the last 20 mins of the first half. No different to last season great forward play lousy game management. Anyway second half Robertson / Sane link up made the difference. Bilbao couldn't attack down that flank and we slowly took control of midfield. Klavan and Gomez held on to ball for to long on numerous occasions and there passing was accurate but slow. I'm really warming to Grujic. Team for Watford Ming TAA Matip Lovren Robertson Can Hendo Cortina Salah Firmino Mane Really enjoyed the way we played at times during pre-season, and looking for a few of the young players to break thru. Solanke, Woodburn, Grujic.
Evening lads. Back in hotel now. Wasnt a bad game par se. Got a decent enough seat down one end where pen was. Origi missed an absolute sitter there. Went with wrong foot. It took firmino about 10mins to get going but when he did he was out best player. Milner in midfield... hmmmmm.. limited comes to mind. Our same old ****e was in evidence. Firmino and origi were in behind quite a lot buy no passes came. Anyway.... second half was interesting. Gomez decison making is poor, hes talented but he made very poor passing decisions. First time ive seen solanke live. He's very good... woodburn was absolutely woeful then scored he got into it then. Just the time on ball wasnt there for him at first. Tell you what ejaria was not bad either.
I'd agree. I think at least the last 7 mins we never tried a leg first half. Id agree on robertson. I mean ok moreno did fine but firmino started lw and didnt help him all that much... he did enough but drifted. Mane largely stayed left and tbh salah largely stsyed right first half.

Must've watched a different game to me. He's definitely improving though - I really hope he's had some sort of divine revelation and it isn't just a rare period of lucidity for him.
As you say, We'll have to wait and see if this is genuine improvement or just usual pre season purple patch. What is noticeable is how much more threat Moreno and Robertson give us down the flank in terms of overlap and speed.
I really want him to succeed- mainly because it saves us money He also seems a decent bloke and has clearly got his head down the past year However I also want to be able to say, called it - so sale to Watford going through this week
Klopp says Moreno is back.... and Milner is now free to be a cm....so... idunno... it could be that Moreno and Robertson are our lbs.
I would expect in an away game klopp will go with..... moreno.... given the conversation he had about robertson learning how to defend. Mind you if coutinho hasn't been sold then it should be milner
