I do think that 52% possession, 19 shots and 5 on target away from home tells its own story for those thinking this was a negative
Ain't that the truth! Almost as rash, impulsive, impetuous and damaging as his promotion-costing red card at Rotherham last year He made his point to the gaffer by scoring, no need to remind him of your shirt number. Poor Maddison was singled out repeatedly for the sort of 'treatment' that used to be reserved for Wessi. Problem with being that type of playmaker I guess. He'll need to toughen up and quickly.
That picture. Is f*cking terrifying! Gunn looked very good. I'm really happy we have him in the sticks.
I thought we played well considering how many new players started. Fulham are a good team and will be up there at the end of the season. Yes there is room for improvement but thought our passing and retention of the ball was good at times, excellent away point.
Really pleased with that result and for once I got my thread prediction right LOL. Just seen Oliveira's goal has my stream dropped out and I have to say his reaction after scoring was totally unprofessional and disrespectful to the Coach. I may be alone here but NO player should ever disrespect the Manager like that, he should be fined a weeks wages for that.
I didn't blame him too much for the red card. He was in a headlock and lashed out. If todays celebration was aimed at DF, we don't need that kind of controversey with a new season, new coach, many new players.
DF has no problem with Nelsons actions after scoring. I really like this man, I think we will do well with him in charge! http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...lem-with-nelson-oliveira-s-outburst-1-5136872
I never said we weren't, I just didn't think it was all doom and gloom. Even the commentators acknowledged we had chances. If we'd tucked away one of those early chances, it could have been us sitting back and playing on the counter and looked like a v different game.
'For sure', perhaps Basil did overreact, but if that's a display of the 'passion' that now exists in the team, then bring it on I say, as it has CERTAINLY been missing in previous seasons, especially under AN's stewardship. I also liked his explanation for starting with CJ and IMO in this game. it was the right decision. PS - I'd GUARANTEE, if the ball had hit one of our defenders' arms, the referee would have had NO hesitation in awarding a penalty!!!
Just speculation, of course, but last season, away from home, and going a goal down in the 24th minute, there's no way we'd have had the workrate, positive mind-set and most of all fitness / stamina to finish so strongly in the last 10 - 15 minutes. In fact heads would have been likely to drop like flies and we'd have most likely conceded a second. That in itself is testament to DF's short time in charge and can only get better with match-fitness building game by game. A massive positive about today for me. Ja, for sure
