I said I didn't think he was up to it, that's obviously rubbishing him in your books. I hope I'm proved wrong. Give it a dozen or so games and we might have an indication whether I am or not.
I hope that might make a few who are thinking about coming here realise we're not a basket case on the pitch and just off it...
Good result. Not in it until about the 43rd minute. Bossed large parts of the second. The seeds are there but they need back up. Like has been said, when Campbell went off our attacking prowess largely died. We need a bit more and could still be right in it. But don't sell anyone else!
A difficult first half but if that's the best the bookies favourites to get promotion can do what is there to worry about? Reinforcements on the way in the next few weeks and the job's a good 'un.
That game will have given some of the younger inexperienced players a great deal of confidence. Well done lads.
Nervous first half. Defending was - at times - shambolic. Second half was totally different. We were in the competition. We tested them and had plenty more chances. Great build up on the goal. Campbell is an absolute nuisance: I thought he had a good second half. He's run drew four Villa players in. Grosicki and Bowen's switch was well timed. Grosicki skipped down the outside, great cross and superb finish in a crowded goal. Stewards are ****ers. They need to get out the way instead of man handling our players. Aina and Hector looked good after they finally settled. The long throw will be useful. Clark had a good game but he probably had too many fouls - some which Elmo completely played him with. Hernandez looked more up for it. I just hope he and Grosicki aren't playing for moves away while the window remains open. It's a cracking point at what will probably be the hardest away game of the season in the Championship. Let's get some points at home and some more faces through the door. Another striker and a left back at the absolute minimum. More wide players and a centre back are bonus.
They were probably the bookies favourites at the start of last season too, so that means nothing at this stage.
Decent point especially after the first 30 mins, villa didn't look anything to special. Ehab will think his transfer policy had been a masterstroke
Had forgotten who it was, but yes, saying someone isn't good enough for the league is definitely rubbishing him.
Has Steve Bruce just recited the same interview he gave for us after every game? Same old ****, different club.
I thought Grosicki made a bit of a game of it in the second half great cross and he clapped the City fans as he went off ,,, Nice to see.
