If you want to be pedantic about it, I'll remove the "happy", but the result is still the same.

What possible beef would a Charlton fan have with Les Reed <whistle>

It's hard work getting these self entitled footballers to honour parts of their contracts.
I've seen the club try every possible tactic at their disposal to keep hold of players over the years and at best we've managed one extra year following major interest from our richer competitors

Not really. The inference is completely differemt without the happy. The happy suggests we just love losing good players. Without it, we are the victims of an unequal leauge predicated more on cash than talent. So skipping the happy is fairly significant.

Why would I have a beef with Les? Some of my fondest football memories were when Les was at Charlton. None more disappointed than me when the manager role didn't work out.

But the point is it happens so regularly at the end of each season, you need to look closer to home as to why.

Exactly. I'd rather go for Koubaily (sp?) personally. VVD is probably better but he could do the same to us should Barca, RM, BM, PSG come calling.

I'd still take him but I wouldn't want the club to spend 70mil of the budget on him.

Saying that as things stand our transfer window is a shambles. Very happy about Salah and Solanke looks a steal at 3mil. LB we're still ****ed and if Couthino goes with Lallana being out for 2-3 months means we're pretty ****ed as things stand!

This comment doesn't really make much sense. Worse teams than the Saints, with less income, don't lose players as frequently as you. Maybe as fans your not happy, but it appears it's part of your business model, irrespective of what comes out of the club.

I know why....for several seasons we have played good football, have had some great players (or they look great playing for us), we have given them EPL experience so reduces the risk for the buying club (usually Liverpool), we are not so big that players want to stay with us, and financially it made sense for us. I find it more concerning that only one player is really desirable this window.

Very good point. The dislike on here for Liverpool, Spurs, Everton fans is embarrassing tbh. Their club sells the players ffs!

It's so bad that people on here generalise all Liverpool fans as being 'thick' etc etc etc. Pathetic behaviour from so called adults <laugh>

It's the constant generalisations that I find amusing and bizarre mate.

It tells more bout the poster than the post though tbf <laugh>

I've disliked Spurs (more than before!) since they beat Inter with Bale, causing a lot of their fans to have some weird superior complex...

Football is just so full of hypocrites. Players wear a shirt with Respect written on it but players, ex players, club managers and national team managers have all come out and condoned Virgil's unprofessional behaviour. FIFA need to lay down some clear rules on transfers which they police and punish those who break them. However there is a fat chance of that as the game is corrupt right through starting from the very top.

I think Astro drove us that way on this thread. I've never put anyone on ignore in 8 odd years on here. Just couldn't put up with the constant WUMing.

The funny thing is that when Shane Long scored at Anfield last year, that put to bed my illogical dislike for Liverpool. It's coming back though a bit :)

Glad you like it. Given the Scousers that keep posting on here it has became an obvious truism.

Yeah it's obvious. You don't know the slightest thing about me buddy.

I'm certainly not 'thick', far from it actually - but crack on <ok>

I think Astro is harmless, he doesn't tend to be rude or personal unlike some on other threads. I don't see the point if putting people on ignore, it's an anonymous forum and football is always going to divide opinions.
