Hi guys.....still no news back home then. Cant be many players left we've not been linked with now. Never mind plenty time to sign and get to gel in with the squad. Well played the board. VVankers.
Hope so Phil, just hope he performs to his potential if he does come. If he does then it will be business as usual. Viera is potent in attack as an AM but he's not as dynamic up and down the pitch as Siggy, that's probably because he, like Roque, is used to playing football with the intensity of a 'Spanish Stroll'. If he wants to be a hit here then fitness is his key. Its not his Achilles heel or anything like, but it is something he will certainly have to improve on and he could struggle in the first few games while he's getting up to speed.
If or when we sell Siggy we'll have more money to buy better quality players, so probably that's why we're currently not jumping about in the market. Also only Everton and clubs with huge financial backing, have been active in the transfer market. All others, including us, don't want to spend over the odds for average players so we along with the rest are effectively stuck in a buyers chain. This means that the players we want are currently unavailable at normal prices because that players club are themselves waiting for players they want, to become available and so on down the chain so the market is slow and will be right up to deadline day when Sky can reap their rewards.
Lunch over so checked this out... https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/premier-league/transfers/wettbewerb/GB1
The website is saying we sold Cork for £7m. I thought he went for £10m? Website also value Gylfi at £21.5m. Hope Everton haven't seen that valuation
Same person on his twitter feed saying not all of the Gylfi money will be reinvested. We are ****ed if true.
It feels like Gylfi is not bothered either way by this deal. I hope he just digs his heels in last minute and stays teaching both clubs a lesson.
I expect them to not reinvest all of the money. If they don't use at least £35m we are stuffed. Clement will probably be very lucky if he gets £30m to spend.
