Isn't it more than that. Most people paid by the hour are only paid for the hours that they work. Footballers probably do less than 35 hours per week.
You know the universe is trolling when two of our reported transfer targets combine for a nicely worked team goal...
Used to do our Match threads as well. Would always do an adapted one on our oppos board. I loved it when we played Chelsea and he'd post his excellent match thread and the torrent of abuse from the chavs cause a Lillywhite had posted on their board. Regular as clockwork.
i really dont know...i just saw his name and a post up on the GC board this morning..whilst i was just flicking through
Trabzonspor have confirmed an interest in Sissoko. Getting this ready in advance... please log in to view this image
They're saying that we paid £35m for the useless bastard. Come on guys, that's not helping anyone, is it?
He was doing quite a lot of those threads and he wanted to cut back, IIRC. They're still posted on his own site, I believe. http://www.myfootballfacts.com/Tottenham_Hotspur_FC.html
I guess it's wishful thinking to point out we managed to make a profit on Didier Zokora when they bought him a few years back?
Neymar's official: All that La Liga bleating was for nothing. By sheer coincidence, PSG's away kit this season is a tribute to Brazil: please log in to view this image What are the odds?
You mean crippled with a debt they'll never repay as a direct result of having Neymar play in front of local crowds?
It looks as if Josh Onomah is off to Villa on loan. I think that's a good thing. He's at a point where he needs to build upon being a success at the U20 World Cup and play regular first team football. Villa are flat broke (having agreed to contribute all their remaining money to the Racist, Leader, Legend's retirement fund), so he should get plenty of game time with Jack Grealish having abused his kidneys into submission. There's some speculation that this represents the start of his permanent exit from Tottenham but I rather doubt that. If he has a good season at Villa it will be far better for him than clocking up 10 sub appearances with us. He's been in plenty of match day squads but he's not learning anything useful any more watching from the bench. Good luck young man. Work hard, play well and leave your girlfriend's number well away from your captain's gaze!
Good luck to onomah. Hopefully the regular game time will help him develop It's starting to get concerning now, though. So close to the start of the season, and our squad is weaker than the end of last season. What is going on?
Good luck to Josh if it does go through, hoped that after the World Cup we'd see more of him in his preferred role but it seems it isn't to be just yet. Villa are a huge club and he'll have some big personalities with him there with Bruce and Terry so hopefully they can help guide him to become the player I believe he can be (think I was just sick in my mouth, relying on John Terry to do us a favour...).
Loaning out Onomah is a mistake, unless we strengthen in central midfield. If Sissoko leaves too, then we're really depleted in that area, especially in light of Dembele's ongoing issues. I can only think of two central midfielders that we've been linked with in this window. Kovacic is very unlikely and Barkley barely qualifies. This should be good for Onomah though, assuming that he gets regular football in his proper position. It might have been good for him last year too, as he barely featured for the first team.
Mauricio Pochettino has persisted in playing Josh Onomah as a wide attacking player. I don't know whether that's feasible or practicable but his best performances (admittedly, at youth level) have come from playing in a Mousa Dembele position and it's said that the lad himself believes that. At which point we've lost an underperforming, young wide player.....a bit like passing on Clinton N'Jie. I can live with that. If we're losing Josh and Sissoko, then I would think it most unlikely that we won't be strengthening both holding and attacking midfield areas. Given what we're losing has contributed so little to the cause (for differing reasons) any change has every likelihood of being better than Status Quo (Yeeeuch!). We've counted CCV and Josh Onoma as squad members for 2 seasons. They're not ready. Nor's KWP from what I've seen. Better to admit it and shop accordingly than pretend otherwise whilst holding those boys back. Players mature at differing rates, Rooney at 16; Dele at 18; Beckham at 23. Not being PL ready at 19 is no cause for shame and reflects the reality of the situation.
I'm happy if we return to the loan system that was producing results for us, as I think it will benefit the club a lot, if it's done properly. Walker had a very productive spell at Villa, so I'd be very happy to see Onomah do the same and I think he's ready for it. Carter-Vickers needs it, in my opinion. Some positions are more suitable for loanees than others. Sending out players like Onomah and Carter-Vickers lets younger academy kids play at a higher level. The older ones aren't really benefiting from it any more, but the less experienced ones will. We really do need depth to replace them, though.
Pleased to see that he signed a new contract. Good luck to him at Villa. They've picked up a couple of unexpected injuries, so he could end up getting games pretty quickly. I think he signed in time to be considered for their game against Hull Hotspur tomorrow. It kicks off at the same time as our Juventus friendly though, unfortunately.
