We sold Ibe, so don't get that one. Plus he was a youth player so wasn't a key player worth a huge amount of money. Sakho we loaned out cause he was nob, not because he was on strike. Plus the loan re-emphasised his value. Moreno was bought for peanuts (in todays market) and is still worth peanuts. Anyway this whole situation is apparently not about the money or value, its that Soton don't want to lose their best player but he doesn't want to play for them. My point was that as noble as the Soton manager is trying to be, can he afford to have a player in his team that doesn't put his full effort in. And can the owners of Soton have one of their biggest earners sat on the bench or rotting in the reserves.
There are reports that Klopp has recently spoken with Mbappe about a move to us. Can that be true? Surely if that's the case a Coutinho transfer is being considered. This will give the Spanish hope that LFC is indeed open to serious offers.
IF we sold Coutinho. And IF we bought Mbappe. First off. No one is allowed to sing that Hanson song, even as a joke. Secondly, we still need to make another signing to make it worthwhile. Who would be the creative force in midfield? Spending all our money from Coutinho on Mbappe it would have to be someone cheap but good.
He refused to train. He then joined them late to pre-season. He put in a TR. Club said if anyone else bids he can re-open talks with Liverpool He has 'crunch talks' saying he wants out ..... No nothing much happened in the last few weeks at all Meanwhile, we've had no offers for Coutinho, he's made no noises about wanting out - business as usual.
If only our owners had another club in which to do dodgy deals through Put in a fake bid then so we could buy him lol.
When was that mate? If I was Soton I'd be loathed to sell him to you after the tapping up thing, if a genuine bid comes in from the likes of City, then it could get interesting.
I was thinking the same mate. Klopp's good pal is manager of Middlesbrough but it's a bit too rich for them
Peter Moore urges calm after reminding Liverpool fans he has no dealings with transfers The Reds CEO has been inundated with fans eager for transfers since taking over the role in June http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/peter-moore-urges-calm-after-13426489
I don't have anything intelligent to add but I would like to point out that @InBiscanWeTrust likes "Moore, Peter" and will be no doubt be heeding his words.
I myself like to hop on looking for a couple lads who work on anfield itself and see whats going on duri g the stand building etc. I never read the rest as they ban discussion which i find silly. No no coutinho talk allowed unil something happens not even to debate what might be accepted if..
My point wasn't to having a dig at Liverpool, it was more that players hold their values if they are still seen as big assets. Sahko hadn't played in a year and guys still wanted 20m for him. 30 now that he did well in the few games he had at palace. Benteke was bought for 30m, spent most of the season benched and you still got 30m for him. The way footie money is going, it's still going higher (when the bubble bursts who knows) but having VVD on 65k rotting in the reserves is affordable after all the PL money has just give everyone an extra 50m. He was effectively doing that last year when he was out for half the season. In terms of his transfer fee, it probably won't be affected as the big clubs will still want him, probably more so after injuries/players not working out in the first half of the season.
That lad would want to wake up. Ceo... means someone on staff ultimately reporting to you is doing it. And if they are reporting to gordon instead he should not have taken the job as he doeant understand how proper organisation and accountability works.
First 2 was 2 weeks ago. Club about re-open talk with pool was said even before that and since no clubs have opened talks, this is all not new. He has crunch talks, thats about as reliable as Barca's news saying they've agreed personal terms with coutinho. He hasn't put in a TR, else the whole world would have heard about it and even your fellow pool supporters are criticising him for NOT putting a TR in. Coutinho hasn't made any direct noises, but Barca are about to get a shed load of cash and if FSG are greedy they may force him out. The news on Coutinho is way more recent than VVD. The point being, RAWK have banned chatter on Coutinho but not VVD. I don't even know why you are trying to defend it
We are not making any high profile signings until we have seen if we have got in CL proper. Window doesn't close till end of Aug, Klopp said signings would be later and to be patient. Think we are screwed if we **** up the qualifier tbh. Could be our most important two games ever. Just cause Klopp doesn't like players who wait for the CL to be the difference doesn't mean he won't buy them. But hey ho - we will see
Honestly, i don't think it will. It's not like (conjecture) VVD is going round with a message of hating Saints, he's not part of the squad and apparantly everyone is happy. In all honesty, even Bertrand who is rumoured to want to leave hasn't said anything disparaging. Maybe you could say it's a distraction but i reckon the Soton boys are just ignoring him. 1 CB isn't going to change their plans too much imo
Theres never everyone i happy in these. Its distracting. There players looking at it and wondering. If you belive everyone is happy ok...
Would you say Sahko was and still is a distraction? Neither was Suarez a distraction (admittedly he made up before the season started). I don't think VVD as a player and the sort of team Southampton are (not built of cliques ala terry, drogba, lampard) has that sort of influence, especially since this Southampton team is used to this **** happening every year. If Southampton start off bad, then certainly, it may be used as an excuse but i just don't see it
You said nothing's happened since they reported us - a lot's happened since then. He's refusing to play for them now - breaking news.
