Yeah awful. We have seen A. Milner Jesus wept. B. Klavan.. get a ****ing God damn phone call into Southampton and ask how pissed are you lot. Give them 75 but get it done. C. Lfc against a team defending properly without coutinho and salah... midfield was actually decent. We were awful.

Didn't see the game. Recorded it. Ur couldn't be bothered to re watch it all so skipped to goals and pen. Never rewlly sure why play 2 games in 2 days. Seems a bit silly as never going to play the same team so bit pointless.
Was impressed with Robertson when he came on. And look forward to seeing Grujic play more this season
Grujic played ok. Needs just to find a role, attacking, box to box or can he control? I'm not sure. His speed of game looked better but it was a half paced game. I think he should get a few game This year.
I watched the match tonight but have to add only because there was bugger all else on that my missus wanted to watch so I nicked the remote. I turned on with around 15 mins gone and the crowd were doing a mexican wave. I commented that that was a good sign given it took a lot longer last night. I can see why the crowd were so intent on providing their own entertainment. The game was pants even if it was preseason and a sort of friendly with a cup at the end. I thought it was aimless with nobody on either side standing out. The only people who wanted a result seemed to be the Managers and even on that score the Athletico manager wanted it more. Your keeper pulled of a blinding save only for the rest of his team to stand and watch whilst Athletico knocked in the rebound. Your keeper should have kicked off big time at them. Schoolboy stuff. The equaliser was a bit of a comedy as well for me. Origi forgot to fall down when he really did get touched. Doing it with a short delay when the touch has passed looks stupid. You'd think by now he would have had enough practice to do it properly. The penalty shoot out was predictable. My missus said to me when Henderson stepped up for his effort that he didn't look as if he could score. Good call because he didn't. Have to say out of all the takers he did look a bit like the proverbial rabbit in headlights. I know this wasn't a match in anger so to speak but I have to say Liverpool need to improve a lot on that showing if they are going to challenge for a top 4 or even 6 or 7 this season. Early term report: A lot of huff and puff without blowing anything down. Needs to improve and put a bit more effort in if they want to impress later. Best of luck for the season chaps...
Tbf he barely managed a way it was more central than a direction lmao and what you would refer to as a good height for the goalie Poor pen simple as. I have done that loads of times - usually when I am not sure where I am putting it lmao

I really did like Grujic and Kent's efforts. Kid's with arrogance - got to like that. As said, Hendo just looks like he's trying to convince himself he belongs there. And he fails.

Context. We only had 4 first teamers playing from start in Mane, Can, Gini and Lallana. Whole defence was make shift and it was much more of a solid team than creative one. We played yeaterday and hammered Bayern 3-0 so to say we need to improve a lot is bit silly. We played a make shift team 24 hours after playing another game (as did atletico) so no surprise both teams just took it easy. Said earlier, it's a silly competition to have 2 games over 2 days. No reason they couldn't have had 1 rest day in between to allow players to recover and play a bit more football.

Thry should have played weekend and midweek. The pitch looked terrible after 4 games in 2 days as well. Bayer have to then get that backing condition for season now....
My issue is that past our starting 11 we are still sh!t and haven't improved. Additionally we could actually improve our starting 11 as well. Going into the summer, if someone said we would sign Salah, a kid upfront and a back up LB to Milner I would have laughed. No chance we would have such a disastrous summer after getting champions league, but here we are.
Do we reckon we'll get van jkjikilik? Its a strange scenario with him wanting to leave Southampton, they not wanting to sell, and saying we'll have him but only if you want to sell!
