I think targetting particular players and not putting up with second best is quite sensible really. I can only think of one player we could sign who would definitely be better than Janssen and his name is Diego Costa. Which central defenders are defintely better than Wimmer (or Davies)? Our buiness model is to identify younger players who are going to be a lot better than average. By defintion there are very few of those. The second choice is very likely to turn out to be rubbish.
