Hopefully not. Majority of my long term bets are placed with the idea of laying later. So I got Saints at 40/1, i am basically predicting that at some point during the season we will be a much shorter price which I then will be able to lay off my initial bet for a profit
That's a little bit obvious to say that, Beef. Players will inevitably leave any club, unless they're called Totti or Le Tissier.
Worth pointing out that Stoke lost 4-0 last night to St Pauli who are a German second division club. Thing is, none of this matters right now. It's experimentation, learning and fitness. Okay, so there were a lot more 'things to improve on' than 'yeah, I'm happy with that' about tonight, but that's probably even more useful.
Our team looks short of goals, like we were last season. Could do with a defensive midfielder too. Still only a friendly, let's see how we get on against Sevilla.
Didn't bother going as I had to prioritise with work. However, I didn't expect a 4-0 reverse although I would say who wants to play football in weather like tonight! I don't think this will have a bearing at all on the coming season and expect a few new signings to be made before the window closes. Basically the time is little different to the one the under-performed last season and it is unfeasible that it will not be augmented. If anything, I expect that tonight's match illustrated which players probably need to be moved on as well as reinforcing the need to improve the quality that we have available in defence. It is better that we lose in friendlies than during the season and also better that we see where we need to strengthen at a point when we are still able to do so. I would like to see us invest in a new striker too, just to freshen things up a bit.
