Happy, Fez is right when says this is a commercial decision. It absolutely is. Not financial but one in which the club/coach will not be taken to task and a radio station that will tow the line. That's what I mean by controlling the message. Why do you think Viking FM called us Hull Tigers? Why would they do that? Are you suggesting that they don't know we are called Hull City? Sincerely, I am glad for you or anyone else if we are not asking why the squad is paper thin, why there's no left back, and/or about a whole host of baffling decisions that affects the ability of the team to compete. I said it before, I hope VFM makes a good fist of it - however, I have my doubts - based on good evidence and experience and hope it doesn't become an extension of Ehab's videos. We'll see mate!
I don't disagree with you over our problems. I just don't see RH ever challenging the club or asking those questions. Lambo said earlier they all supported the protests, but privately. Brilliant. In respect to challenging the club I don't see there being any change. The message is not just about radio. Social media. Other radio stations. TV. The Allams don't control anywhere near it all. I know you know that but others think otherwise. Others just seem incapable of using it beyond childish hash tags.
****ing hell, the ****er speaks his mind. What basic facts am I missing? Facts like: Seems we all take time to come to grips with the basic facts. Are there others I'm missing, seeing as you are such a knowledgeable prick? ****ing ****er
I'm guessing it'll cost 5 quid -ish per month to subscribe. That's gotta be a hell of a lot cheaper than going to 2 away matches per month ? Live audio commentary plus 2 day delayed full match video...all fixtures. No brainer for a fan.
Following on from this - the principal source of Tigers TV audio feed customers is presumably UK based supporters outside the local radio area of coverage. A much larger market for live audio than the rest of the world, I would think. Yet the OWS states that UK based supporters won't need to shell out on Tigers TV, they can listen to Viking on DAB. Which turns out not to be true. So they have actively dissuaded sales of their Tigers TV package to their largest potential market. Hull City Tigers anti-marketing department strikes again.
It was clear from last season listening to Viking's commentary on tigersplayer that criticism was at a minimum, in fact practically non-existant apart from the odd rhetoric question regarding transfers. From a football point of view, the commentary was more focused whereas Burnsey & Swanny employed a more relaxed, off-the-cuff approach. The fact is - it's the club who have made this decision, did they actually ask for feedback from RH listeners? Business & politics and even entertainment operate hand in hand, rolling out the desired opinions and marketing Hopefully RH will provide a critical counterbalance.
I don't know if this is the solution (and have never claimed to) but I visited the Viking website and downloaded the App, created an account and can listen to all three Viking stations with no issues. I am not in or around East Yorkshire, but I am in the UK. Won't the commentaries, etc. be on one of these three stations, or is that misleading?
You can only listen to match commentaries if you're here, they'll be blocked outside East Yorkshire/North Lincolnshire, exactly as RH was.
Certainly when we were in the PL, in my experience TigersPlayer never uploaded the full match video until the Monday after a Saturday match, at the earliest. Probably some sort of restriction. Perhaps Tiger TV may have a different deal and can upload earlier, but somehow I doubt it as they refused to join up with iFollow which is the intermediary with the EFL. We shall see.
BBC, Radio Humberside, Viking FM, Viking 2, Viking 3, Viking Explorer, DAB, FM & AM, Tiger TV, iFollow, EFL **** me I think it'll be less complicated for you to move back to England and watch every game in person !
Yes I got sick of waiting for Tigersplayer to upload the full match. Why it took so long when no editing was required, God knows. Hopefully someone will upload Viking radio.
The thought had crossed my mind. Found a lovely property in the Peak District. When I mentioned it to my sister who lives in the E.R., she said "You like your beer too much, and we still drive on the left over here, so don't bother". Can't work out if she was trying to protect me from myself r she didn't fancy having me round to stay Sat. nights !
