Possibly another victim of getting carried away with his fame and status too early and losing his way. I've said it on our board a few times, if we go for Renato Sanches then I'd want a loan deal with no obligation to buy. We turned down £40m for Januzaj from PSG apparently, when he was on top of his game, we sold him for peanuts. Let Bayern take the hit, that goes for whoever buys him, he's their mistake until he proves himself again.

If Pogba is world-class then Coutinho is universe-class.

Wind and piss that. They can't legally stop the transaction, if PSG are found to have contravened FFP when they submit their accounts to UEFA, then UEFA will set the appropriate sanction. La Liga can't unilaterally make that decision on UEFA's behalf and somehow block this move, which is a simple case of a release clause being triggered.

Can't disagree with most of that, mate. They're blatantly buying probably the title and who knows what else. Even if they fail this coming season, they'll just keep spending until they get what they want.

The feeder clubs are just that. There to feed the parent with any local talent they come across.

As far as FFP goes, I always hoped for the best but feared the worst. Having come across numerous examples of what the Americans called 'creative accounting' in my time in the City, I knew it wouldn't take long for them to start dancing rings around the rules. Ably assisted, as you say, by those who're supposed to be upholding those regulations.

I totally agree. No doubt there's potential, but he's miles away from being the player most people think/thought he is. He had a shocking first season at Bayern, they clearly want rid. He had a shocker last night too, absolute shocker.

He needs to go back to basics (mentally) and knuckle down and play for a team that'll give him game time.

We'll probably sign him now <doh>

They don't even have to break FFP to do the deal, they can structure the deal over a six year contract and pay £35m per year that would unlikely break any FFP rules.

They're probably just spitting feathers over unfair funding, which is what Real Madrid have benefited from multiple times over the last 20-30 years.

He got 13 goals and 7 assists last season and missed a massive chunk due to injury. He's the highest ever scoring Brazilian in the PL ffs.

Take your tinted specs off Matth, mate.

Barca complaining about tapping up and financial fair play <laugh>

****ers should be slapped and then made to pay back all the state funding they recieved (along with Real Madrid).

Good because we wouldn't sell him to you.

He's better than any of your midfielders imo mate.

They're backing Barca who will be kicking themselves for not setting the release clause higher. Release clauses for that level of player are supposed to make them inert in reality, but Barca have been caught with their trousers down here.

If they pay £198m and sign him on a 6 year deal, his annual cost on their accounts (his amortisation) will be £33m. The up front capital cost is irrelevant to how players values are accounted for.

That's the problem in this case, mate. These guys have more money than God. No way they're gonna fail, because they're not playing by the same rules.

    Oh ****ing hell.

You think that Coutinho is a long shot merchant?

Get back in your box lad, he's probably the most gifted footballer on these shores.
